I just put together 40 vials of ink, ready to ship out for trade. One set is accounted for, I have four of each of these:

PR

Dakota Red

Arabian Rose

Fiesta Red

Noodlers:

Shah's

Kiowa Pecan

BSB

Blue Ghost

Navajo Turquoise

I'd love to pack up eight vials and send them to you for eight random vials of whatever you want to send me. I will make a list of what I have, but I can tell you that my only brands are PR and Noodlers, so if you have an ink by another maker, and it is not black, assume that I will take it!

South Seas Blue is already vintage ? I am that old ? When did they stop making it ?

And I gotta find my inner self (but I worry about being too flamboyant with lavenders etc...) so, perhaps a diversion into brown & copper tones, or some greens.

I tend to like saturated colours rather than pastels.

I have:

Noodlers

Standard brown

Blue/black

Purple wampum

Blue ghost

Ottoman rose

Luxury blue

Hunter green

For those making their own iron galls, I have some cochineal, logwood, madder root, and annatto seed which can be used to color the ink.

Would like to try:

a nice dark red

I'm open to any other suggestions/thoughts except iron gall inks as I'm brewing a whole kitchen counter full right now.

Let me know. I can share toys and play well with others.

My vials are playing the minx and until I can locate them, I have to bow out the ink exchange. I ordered alot of them, so it's not like it's a small package hiding from me. I suppose that's what happens when I make sure to put something where I know I can find it  To those with whom I've already made exchange agreements, not to worry I have plan B!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
