Recommended Posts

Finally not so busy now, having finished my move; its time to sort through my unused ink bottles again.

Heres what I have available:

- Sailor Storia - Balloon Green pigment ink - sample decants

- vintage Carter ink - Green - can do sample decants or ~50ml fill in a Parker Quink bottle

- Rohrer & Klingner - Scabiosa - samples or near-full bottle, I decided it wasnt a color for me after one pen fill

- Organics Studio - Walden Pond Blue - sample decants

- Birmingham Pen Co. - Blockhouse Sepia - full bottle or sample decants

- Birmingham Pen Co. - Alternator Crimson - full bottle or sample decants

- Birmingham Pen Co. - Truss Blue - near-full bottle (less one test fill) or sample decants

- Sailor - Tokiwa Matsu ~2.5ml sample vial

- Noodlers - Walnut brown - sample decants

- Papier Plume - Sazerac - sample decants

Interested in:

- samples or full bottle of Colorverse - Dark Energy

- samples of various Colorverse inks

- sample or full bottle of Robert Oster - Fire & Ice (< low priority)

- sample or full bottle of Montblanc - Irish Green

I have a 95% full bottle of De Atramentis Aubergine that I would love to trade.

You know, loved the sample, bought a bottle and it's just not hitting it for me.

I much prefer the Sailor Shigure.

I am looking for:

Sailor Oku-Yama

Robert Oster Deep Sea

Blackstone Blue Cypress

De Atramenits Indigo

(I am open to partial bottles of 15-20ml. This wasn't particularly expensive and I am sick of looking at it)

OR

A #6 1.1 Stub nib (Conklin ok, lol, just in case you have one lying about that you love to hate. I really need an extra nib to swap out from time to time).

DM me to discuss even if you don't have exactly what I am looking for. I am partial to Sailor & Iroshizuku inks.

Thanks!

I'm on a kick to find a green that I really like--probably a dark/forest green. I'd really like to swap some samples of what I have, rather than buy new stuff. The catch right now is that I only have 2 empty sample vials, until I use up some samples and can reuse them. am out of vials! Please PM me if you're interested and we can work something out when I get more.

I have plenty of inks, though, and some Parker cartridges to offer up. So if anyone thinks a swap might work, please PM me. (If you have spare empties, let me know; you could send your exchange to me first and include a few empties for me to fill and return.)

Available, if I'm remembering them all correctly...

I'm after samples (or even full/partial bottles) of either Papier Plume 011 (Chicago Pen Show special), or Diamine Blood Orange. Also, a bit of Bungubox Kabayaki Hamanako Eel or Green Tea 88 or Nostalgia.

All of these seem really difficult to find, anywhere. I have inks, including some nearly full bottles I can trade. I don't have a ton of ink, but, maybe just PM me, as I'm preparing my list as we speak. I will list them as needed. Or, we can just trade samples. Heck, I'd even be willing to just buy some if I could find some. :)

Just kinda trying to find some of these inks here in the US, to keep shipping costs down.

Thanks.

I wish I had any of these to offer up. Diamine Blood Orange is, at least, available; Goulet has samples.

Massdrop is running a drop on Diamine 150th Anniversary inks right now, and Blood Orange is one of the available options. (I've checked.) Easy as.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
