The flat O/lays are now in the post to Neal, [i managed to part with them!] So with a bit of luck they should be with him tomorrow morning, so hopefully they will be appearing here shortly!

I hope you like them!

The design for the Clouds House pen looks fantastic! I hope this reply reaches the correct bit of the thread, as this is my first post here ...... can't wait to see it as it progresses.

Thank you for your comment about the Clouds House Pen.

And Welcome to this thread, I feel quite privileged that you posted on this one first! Don't tell me that you have read through the whole thing!

I hope that you have a sense of humour, most of the people on here do! [Verging on madness!]

Are you new to collecting, or do you just like writing with fountain pens?

Esterbex, thank you for your welcome message.

What, TF, do you not recognise my pseudonym? Look a little closer. Sorry to disappoint you but, although it was my first post on FPN (I'm a bit of a technophobe too), it's not the first time our paths have crossed .... and yes, I've enjoyed reading the posts, very amusing, wouldn't it be wonderful if each could appear handwritten?

I am very pleased to be able to tell you that amonst my E-mails that had arrived during the night, was one from [until now] an unknown person, who had fairly recently 'discovered' my work, and having looked at the Web-site decided to order four of my pens, including the homeless/orphan pen!

To say that my 'Flabber' was well and truly 'Ghasted' would have been an understatement! The Simpole fraternity are known for being blessed with particularly robust 'flabbers'!!!

I have E-mailed the gentleman, and he has telephoned me, and it does appear that he is a fairly 'new-comer' to the world of Pen Collecting.

But despite his 'newbie' status, it would seem that he wants me to keep him informed of new designs as and when they are available.

It just feels like today is going to be a very good day!

I feel so good, I could crush a grape!!!

PS. I might even mow the lawn!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
