Waterman Lady Charlotte?

Hello Forum -

I got this pen in the mail Friday. I apologize for the lack of photos. I've tried multiple times with Internet Explorer and Firefox and I can't add pictures, could be our ongoing maintenance, could be clumsy me! I'll just point to the eBay item number: 130326692683

I bought it deliberately because it has the same form factor as the Lady Agathe I sold some time ago. I think it might be a Lady Charlotte, only I don't recall seeing that model in this color, which is a rich dark brown, described as Cordovan.

I read petra's review of a similar pen in the Pen Reviews forum and the nib on mine is slightly different, could be newer design perhaps?

I am unable to ink this pen yet. It did come with an empty (spent) cartridge but my syringe refiller kit has not come yet - neither the mini cartridges. petra indicates in her review that this type of pen will probably accept the converter made for the CF pens. Is this so? Not that I have one of those either but I will get one if need be...

The nib came clean after some effort. The inside of the cap is still giving off some pigment though...

Thanks for any ideas/thoughts/insights/two cents!

Hi Kristina. It looks like a Lady Charlotte, although I thought this was only in green, blue, red and black.

You could use a "Bantam converter" from http://www.tryphon.it/catalogo.htm or the Monteverde Mini Compact Ink Converter (http://www.pendemonium.com/ink_monteverde.htm)

Enjoy :)

Hi antoniosz

The brown color is unusual and definitely caught my attention, though I was looking for anything in that size and form. Didn't match the Lady Charlotte product line as I had seen it either.

Thank you for your super leads on the mini converters! I will definitely follow those up - very reasonable prices.

I can't wait to ink this pen. It has a great feel to it, heavy with the brass ballast, and measures close to 5 1/2" when posted. Longer than a Pilot G2 mini pen.

What a lovely collection - and presentation! Thanks for posting the photo...

What is the orange one to the right of the Lady Agathe?

Okay, I figured out the image thing I think...just needed the right image address on Flickr. This is the newly acquired pen next to my Black Phileas. Sorry the quality is not so good...my fault. My only working camera is the one on my cellphone!

Antoniosz... what is the name of the solid green one you have in the photo? Love your green Anastasia too. I'm looking for one just like it. :) If you happen to see one for sale, please let me know...

Thank you,

Paula

From the Catalogue, the Green and Red are Lady Charlottes.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
