Clear your cache and try again.

OK, just did that first in FireFox and then in Safari...

In my post just above yours and this post, I still see my old avatar with either browser....

So, everyone except me is seeing my new avatar in my posts?

I don't get it....

Have you deleted the FPN cookies (bottom of this page) as well as clearing the cache on your computer?

Thanks for your help, penspouse...

Hadn't deleted the FPN cookies before....just did that and re-emptied cache in Firefox, but still see my old avatar!!

Cookies shouldn't affect the avatar you see, but cache might. I'm not familiar with Firefox, but IE8 (forced on me, more or less, by Microsoft's update system) seems to have hidden cache controls. You also might need to leave the FPN pages, clear the cache, close and reopen your browser and then come back to FPN to see the change (which ought to affect all your posts, old and new -- that's how avatars work for me).

Does not always write loving messages.

Does not always foot up columns correctly.

Does not always sign big checks.

Thanks for your suggestions....just tried that and still see old avatar....one other issue, think I mentioned earlier, is that almost always when I click 'Save Changes' button, I get an error message that avatar can't be larger than 100KB....but the one I'm uploading is only about 70KB!!! So, then I see my old avatar again....

Just a thought, but some kinda-ISPs like AOL often cache images and entire pages on their servers, or used to ...

Hmmm.....interesting, not on AOL though....and have tried this on my computer at work today as well and no difference....

I read up to this point, and was looking at the monkey. Cleared my cache in Firefox, refreshed the page, and now I see the Dutch master. (BTW, I liked that monkey...)

Don'tcha HATE that? That stupid update system is the only reason I have IE on my machine.

Sorry, don't mean to hijack...

Odd thing is that before I was logged in, I didm't see any avatar for ArchiMark whatsoever, but now I see the Dutch master.

I tried to change my signature last night to add new pens I bought at the Columbus show, and the screen indicated I could have as many lines as I wanted, but when I deleted one and then added one of the new pens, and clicked "save changes," it said my signature was now too long and wouldn't let me change it.

Also, when I typed in the new pen in the same way I'd done the older ones, the http (?) language didn't look the same, so I don't know if it would've added anyway.

I can't change my siggy line either and the info is completely outdated.

You're not alone, sallywally and Sailor Kenshin....

Have fought that signature change issue several times, going back and forth until somehow it decides it likes my changes and then saves sig....

Obviously, it would be nice and helpful if the webmaster could modify that note about sigs that they can be of any length....

Start your signatures from scratch; enter only plain text (no copy+paste from elsewhere) and then use the editor buttons to color, format, add images, etc.

Did that, doesn't work.

And yep, it would be nice if the next upgrade allowed us to change siggy lines et cetera.

I stole IANAN's sig, obviously after the upgrade, by copying and pasting. The copy and paste did not preserve font size or color; I had to edit those. No problems.

Oh, sorry... "monkey" is just a new slang term! It translates as "a very estimable literary Brahmin, and fashion model". Probably started as an acronym of some sort...

(Funny thing is, when you started using it, it took me a while to realize that it wasn't a morphed image.)

Have you tried holding down the shift key while you click the refresh button? Always works for me. By the way, I also see the Dutch Master ;)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
