Woo hoo! Now that a few people have had theirs for a few weeks, does anyone have a comment on the usability or otherwise of the new flexxxy SEF nibs?

I can't comment - I'm holding my breath!

May we live, not by our fears but by our hopes; not by our words but by our deeds; not by our disappointments but by our dreams.

Hi Folks!

I've had mine for weeks - and the flexy stub is delicious - and as I fill the pen as an ED it is also juicy!

I did have just one tiny weeny bit of trouble having to realign the tines a touch - but apart from that it was instantly into service, and still is used every day!

I'm using Iroshizuku inks, Tsukushi and Yu-Yaki - sometimes mixed, sometimes not - but I'm delighted with my pen - and hope all others are as delighted with theirs too.

Thanks again Kevin!

Each day is the start of the rest of your life!

Make it count!!!

Wow, I thought this thread would generate an avalanche of excitement. Instead, the crickets are chirping.

I think it's because all the usual suspects already have theirs and are quietly fondling them in admiration, or contemplating the necessity of buying that exact brown that most truly expresses the autumnal sorrow of parting however briefly with friends, rather than posting here.

Still waiting...

I have been usin my EEF intensively for 4 weeks, and it has been delightful since it arrived. Quite a nice nib to use. Usability of this pen (size, balance, weight, ergonomics...) and of the EEF nib is 100% ...

That's good to know, Jopen! I took the risk on the new nib, myself, so it's good to hear nice things said about it.

This nib has shown very good manners, and it's not only in my case. I'm sure that there are quite a few more to come home in the future...

Sorry had to go away for a conference. The good news is that all the clip problem have been solved and on the way to me as well. I'll confirm this once I see them. Let's say there were a lot of global express back and forth. Glad the new clips are all installed and people who wants silver or gold color would get their choice. The best part, the gold color ones should also be faceted.

I can't comment - I'm holding my breath!

And he gently exhales

not wanting to disturb the moment

the stunning beauty

I'm awestruck. I knew this pen would be beautiful - but this...

Needless to say, the letter carrier arrived at my door with a package and a signature slip. Ironically, this was the only time I've known the USPS tracking system to actually convey a proper arrival notice at my local post office. Thus I've been waiting with baited breath. But I digress.

Kevin - you and the Danitrio folks and most especially Mr. Tatsuya Todo have created a pen that expresses life itself - a journey!

I've a quotation on my wall, "Life is not measured by the breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away." While I normally don't ascribe such moments to inanimate objects - gazing at this pen for the first time (and I suspect from now on), takes my breath away. In my religious tradition - we would call this moment communion - a connection created between people sometimes separated by time, sometimes separated by distance, but always together in spirit and love. As I run my fingers over the surface of this pen, I can feel the heart and soul that went into this art and I am humbled.

Thank you my friend. I'm honored to have this pen in my possession for awhile.

Grace and Peace,

Kelly

I like the quote on your wall Kelly. Glad you like the pen. This certainly put a smile on my face on an otherwise boring conference that I have to attend. More pens will go out next Monday :-)

Thanks again and enjoy your pen.

Best,

Kevin

P.S. Recently, a photo pool was created in flickr, called #DailyArsenal. I added this one last week:

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
