Which MB Boutiques have you visited?

I'm in the Flagship boutique in Kuwait quite regularly. Before it openned, I used to go to the 2 boutiques that were here before it. There's a fourth one which openned recently that I haven't been to yet. In other countries, I've been to the 2 in Bahrain. A couple of month ago I visited the boutique on Neuer Wall in Hamburg, and the one in Frankfurt Airport.

Since then:

Rome, Italy

Florence, Italy

Via Montenapoleone, Milan, Italy

Champs-Elysees, Paris, France

4 in Dubai, UAE (Dubai Mall, Mall of Emirates, Emirates Towers, Ibn Battoota)

For those of you on the go, here's a link to a new (to me) locator for boutiques and authorized dealers. Much better than the previous locator.

None here in Israel apparently.

Too many pens; too little writing.

The previous locator was pretty hard to use, this one looks better.

However, for my local stores, they're missing Bromfield Pen Shop in Boston (an Authorized Retailer that's a block away from another Authorized Retailer, E.B. Horn Jewelers, which does appear).

Also, there seems to be some sort of database error, because if you click on the "map pin" for the MB Boutique in the Copley Square Mall in Boston, its labelled as the MB Boutique Cabo San Lucas in Mexico (which is address below the one for the Copley Square boutique in the list to the left).

EDIT: I just tested again, and the result isn't consistent. If you zoom around on the map, you can get the wrong listing, but if you click the address in the list on the left, you seem to get the right one. Time for more software QA!

I've only been to the boutique in the Mall at Short Hills which is the only one in NJ. There used to be one in Paramus at the Westfield Plaza but I believe that one closed in 2008. I don't know if this counts but Paradise Pen has a Montblanc kiosk .

Our house in Dubai was 20 minutes drive from 3 MB boutiques - Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Batuta Mall and Dubai Mall.

The one in Dubai mall is the biggest. I found the staff in the Mall of the Emirates the most friendly though - I've been there several times to test various inks and nibs on the tester 146s they have.

I've been to a bunch at various airports but I'm not sure if it really counts.

I am deeply envious of you world travelers! For myself:

NYC, 57th Street

NYC, Madison Avenue

The Mall at Short Hills, NJ

Tampa International Mall, Fl.

Westchester Mall, White Plains NY.

Toronto, Ontario

Beverly Center, Los Angeles CA

Garden State Plaza, Paramus, NJ (since closed)

. . . but the funny thing is, owing to my horrible fear of paying MSRP for anything, I've never purchased pens at any of these stores, only refills/ink. I bought my Generations ballpoint and rollerball at Costco (horrors!) and my recent purchase of a 146 was made at Engraveably Yours, a high volume deep-discount (but still authorized) dealer in Spring Valley, New York.

Like many here, I have visited Munchen, NYC, King of Prussia, and White Plains. One I haven't seen mentioned that I had occasion to visit last year is the boutique in Shanghai!

To my sorrow, there is only ONE MB Boutique in Israel, located at Tel Aviv. I got much better prices from authorised dealers. Here is a picture of the Tel Aviv MB store:

Is it official? I ask because something smells really fishy about the whole setup - the staff are too unprofessional, and the selection is too large.

Too many pens; too little writing.

Life is like Chinatown signage, its cluttering, confusing but everything that you need is there, just have to look harder....

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
