Fellowship pen

Actually, I'm not too quiet over here where I am, talking about the Fellowship pen to those who are thinking, "Another pen?" You know, like, "what's the big deal?" Barbarians.

I'm glad to hear it. I was beginning to worry that you might have become jaded or that you might be preparing a 40 page essay on hermeneutics and the ennui of pen collecting.

Kevin, who will be getting their pens out of the current lot you have? Are you going in the Fellowship list order or something else? For example, you mention that the clip pens are not yet made so I guess those people are being skipped on the list. Also did you get only certain types of nib or did you get a mix?

Apologies if this has already been addressed and I missed it!

Siv,

I'm guessing that Kevin is deep down in his basement, comparing orders with pens, accessories, etc, and cursing us (and himself) for ever undertaking this ordeal.......

That is why he is not responding (or not)...

I got mix nibs for this lot, and I am trying to get the pens out for folks from Europe visiting US... and trying to make sure folks are in town and not traveling before I sent the pens.... then there are folks doing installments.... Then there is Gail... and Chris.... :roflmho: Let's just say a big bunch will go out Monday since I have weekend to pack. Thanks for everyone's patience... Yup 12:30AM here... got to go to bed, before I start making mistakes. LOL.

Hi Ernest,

The first 31 pens I got are all clipless, and I believe you want yours with a clip, so that is coming toward the end of August. Sorry for the confusion.

Best,

Kevin

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
