That is, they have arrived? Should we thank mrs Cheng for receiving the pens, or are you having them delivered at work? My wife once mentioned a package had arrived only by the time we were almost asleep as a kind of afterthought.... Ruud (with well-defined interest in this case)

unfortunately I have to pick them up after work. My wife does not understand this "Pen thing". Once she gave me a hard time, I asked her what she rather have? Me, fooling around with pens... or with other women. LOL. She gave me a dirty look (not the kind I like, mind you), and left me along ever since. LOL.

Patience.... it's a virtue my friend... so they said.

I am okay waiting, but, dang!, it sure feels like Christmas!

Hey, doc, have a couple glasses of wine and chill out before taking on those pens! Your health and well being come before the pens. We'll get the pens soon enough.

Notice how quiet Kevin is being?

He is either deep in thought on how to phrase the awful news that they will be delayed, or deep in his basement, checking lists (twice) and packing..............

Wonder which one it is?

Kevin, make mine first...............

This is excitement on a global scale, and you are the ground zero of it all, Kevin.

Seriously, I am really glad you took a vacation in Europe with your family and ignored all the whiny pen addicts here, and i am disappointed that you have had to return to a bad workplace scenario.

Will PM my address. Silly me! Haven't done that yet. What did I think i was buying? A homing pigeon?

A thousand thanks from me.

OK, now comes the hard task of getting these boxes, with papers, accesories... and beg my poor wife to take these to the post office over the next few days. So, there you have it, some quick and dirty shots... I got my dinner, had a glass of wine (not drunk)... a very difficult work day is behind me now... Played with the kids a bit... Now I am going to work.... and I must beg for your forgivness if some other Fellowship members got pens before you.... I will ship them out as quickly as I can after checking each pen. Thank God weekend is just around the corner and I'll have more time to get these babies packed up go to their new homes.

Best,

Kevin

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
