Fellowship pen

I am spending my time waiting for that pen by piling up all my pens in a neat little stack as far up as I can get them and then knocking them over and watching which ones bounce on the floor and where they land. I then proceed to announce the results to anyone who will listen...usually me.

I am also passing the time by walking back and forth in front of my laptop when I am awake and then dragging the laptop into bed and sleeping with it in case I wake up at night and want to check the status of the delivery..... :roflmho:

Anyone who thinks Gail is kidding should be very afraid........very afraid indeed - she will be taking her laptop to bed with her............and playing 'Fiddlesticks' with all her lovely pens!

Kevin - send Gail hers first - then she can tell all of us about it!!!! Which nib did she order????

Of course mine and all the others coming to Aussie residents should be sent first - as we are in the far flung outposts of the world.............don't you think???

:headsmack:  :crybaby: :notworthy1: :clap1:

QUOTE (Frits B @ Jul 24 2009, 11:20 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
My inlaws are in town for 2 months!!! what the $#&%^%! So, I already told my wife I will be busy that weekend and she will have to drive my inlaws around as I will be locked in my office PACKING.

You mean you haven't recruited them to help you packing? Many hands make light work.

Ha, ha, they are not pen folks and most likely will try to jam the pen into the cap. I'll be very grateful if they can just leave me alone for one weekend :-)

Kevin

You're asking for too much... take it easy, please...

I am so happy that I've purchased this pen. It will be the pinnacle of my collecting/using. Last week, the Virginia Woolf LE arrived and it is an inspiration to my writing. My partner asked me which pen was the most aesthetically pleasing, and without hesitation I answered...My clipless Dani Trio Tame-nuri Mikado, followed closely by the Kara Nuri Dani. And now, the ultimate... THE FELLOWSHIP PEN. Works of art IMHO. :cloud9: :cloud9:

Thanks again Kevin :)

BTW, anyone of you checked out the article regarding this pen on this month's PWI? At least couple of you have told me they saw it, and I was waiting for my copy and just realized that I got busy and forgot to renew my subscription... Arrghhh. I am going to hit Borders this weekend and check it out. Joi, did you read it?

Kevin

Does anyone know where to get a single copy of this issue? I can't find it at any local places, and online I only saw how to subscribe... any ideas?

I picked it up at Barnes and Noble but Borders sells them too.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
