Is it the Levenger Amethyst?

OK, so I wasn't supposed to get anymore inks,

Yeh I know... :headsmack:

Don't feel bad - I fell off too! Esp. since someone wrote to me in Amazing Amethyst - so I had to get a bottle! I didn't see the reviews on the Midnight or I would have ordered it too. :crybaby:

What an awesome thread! I hope no one minds my reviving it. I'm presently waiting for three bottles from Diamine: Delamere Green, Green/Black, and Red Dragon. I hope they arrive soon.

I'm a regular patron of The Barrel and the Nib. Pull up a stool, order a good ink, and make yourself at home.

I've got my fingers crossed on a bottle of 1670. Ordered from a more obscure non-pen/ink site, so hopefully they really have it in stock.

From FPH:

Noodler's Ellis Island Blue-Black

Omas Blue

From Art Brown:

Sailor Rikyu-Cha

Noodler's Manhattan Blue

In both cases, the blue inks are pretty much riding along to decrease shipping. They are both blues I have thought about buying for ages and figured I would get some day. That day is now.

It is very likely I will also be ordering and waiting for:

#41 Brown

Black Swan in Australian Roses

Cacao du Bresil

Pelikan Blue

from Brian Goulet some time in this upcoming week.

That's a ton of ink. A ton.

Woot! My new ink order is on its way! I've got a tracking number and everything!

I'm getting:

Sheaffer Skrip Red

Sheaffer Skrip Blue

Sheaffer Skrip Black

Pelikan Brilliant Green

Pelikan Violet

Pelikan Turquoise

Pelikan Brown

Noodler's Apache Sunset

Can't wait! I've never ordered this much ink at once before, usually I just get a bottle at a time, in fact I currently only have five bottles of ink so this will more than double my ink collection.

Noodler's Black Swan in Australian Roses

This one is also on the way to me.

I also ordered three of the autumn Sailor inks, but who knows when those will ship thanks to "Security Theater" EMS restrictions on shipping over 1 lb.

A slew of sailors:

Summer 2010 - Souten

winter 2009 - Yuki-Akari

Jentle Blue, Yellow-Orange, and Green

Autumn 2010 - Oku-yama and Chu-shu

I think i had better start selling samples in to my fellow Canadians or I'll NEVER use up all this ink. Yeesh.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
