I received an old bottle of ink once before....nasty experience....hopefully never again.
Disinfected the whole room after that mess. Ugh...gives me the willies just seeing it again.

That's so funny - I find stuff like that in my daughter's room all the time (teenagers and coffee cups...) and let's not even mention the fridge.

It's just the first antibiotic ink. :)

The Bungubox ink beat the shipment expected date of January 18, arriving today. It’s a cool bottle they call the Heel. It does look like that.

I'm waiting for samples of:

...

L'Artisan Pastellier Callifolio Bleu Méditerranée, Ultramarine and Violet; Classiques Bleu, Fuchsia, Marron Brown and Violette; and

...

How do you like L'Artisan Pastellier Classiques Marron? There are very few pictures of it online.

I've recently gotten Brun Ours, which I love, and, among some others of their inks, I am thinking about getting a couple other browns - Noisette and Caramel - which also have very few pictures online.

Also, do you have Callifolio Violet? If so, do you find it to be significantly different from Classiques Violette?

After seeing how well Stipula Saffron matched my recently acquired M320 Orange Marble, I ordered a back-up bottle in the unlikely event I ever finish the first one. But that was a couple weeks ago and it already arrived.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

I have Sailor Epinard and Ink Studio #641. The Epinard is to match the Sailor 1911 Epinard ringless. I asked Anderson's what would be a good match for my new Sailor KOP Midnight Sky and they suggested the #641 would be closest.....

i recently ran across Sailor Shikiori Yonaga when trying to find a match for a new pen... I ordered the bottle .... along with a Nakaya Portable Cigar Ascending Dragon Ao-tamenuri... it'll be a few months and I am looking forward to both of them.

I have some blackbirds coming (I ran out of a couple of colours) and just ordered a couple of new Inkebara inks to try out as I couldn't find many reviews.

Well earlier today I would have said I'm not waiting for any inks and have no plans (perhaps with a touch of sadness to be discerned). Then I heard about the Van Dieman's ink deal (buy 30ml get 50ml) and went to look. And discovered I'd only need to order 3 to qualify for no extra charge for shipping.

Pretty easy really - Midnight Eclipse has been on my wish list for a long time, Launceston Fog promises to be "an excellent ink for drawing, sketching and ink washing" and Cradle Mountain Grey is grey. Actually, all three of them are grey.

Will work for pens...

I think some of the Van Dieman's look gorgeous (especially the greys), but still no stockists this side of the world :(  I never seem to do very well with getting stuff from Australia, so I guess I'm going to have to wait for a while.

Unfortunately the availability of VD inks seems to be getting worse in this/my part of the world 😞 Scrittura Elegante (NL) stopped carrying them late last year.

Several 50ml bottles of Jacques Herbin Noir Abyssal at A$5 a pop. Don't ask me why...

Also, a bottle of the R&K 2021 LE ink, and a bottle of Pennonia Tihanyi Lila, which should be arriving by DHL before the end of next week.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
