What ink(s) are you waiting for in the mail?

This seems to be a rather popular thread in the writing instruments forum, so why not in the inky thoughts forum?!

So what are you waiting for?

I have 3 bottles of Diamine on the way: Steel Blue, Jet Black, and Poppy Red. Diamine said they were including a special gift with my order. I understand this means an assortment of ink cartridges. :)

If you bought from the Diamine UK site; it's probably a nice box of assorted cartridges which I also snagged with a 4 bottle of ink special. I have the Poppy also and found it to be a bit dull in shade and richness; I am not the best evaluator perhaps and I am going to check it out in some other pens as it's a New Century color vs. the regular line. Let me know how you like it or perhaps others reading this could weigh in here.

You must've gotten one of the last bottles of El Lawrence as they were out when I looked and placed an order today. Oh well, They had gotten Kung Te-Cheng back in stock, so I will be enjoying that in a few days.

Yeah, I think there were only 2 or three bottles of El' Lawrence left when I ordered them late last week. I had actually been waiting for them to get Ottoman Rose back in stock which I think was the same time they got Kung Te-Cheng back in stock too. That's another interesting ink I'd like to try at some point. It's an endless cycle for me :rolleyes: .

North African Violet!

Actually, I needed a Pilot/Nakimi converter, so I ordered two from Swisher...and then there was that lovely new Safari color (pink!)...

So, I decided to get some ink too, just to finish off my bank account.

Ostensibly, it's for the wife's birthday... but funny how much I'm looking forward to this package too:

Pilot Iroshizuku (to go with the pre-birthday gift of Kon-Peki)

* Tsutsuji

* Tsuki-yo

* Momiji (I'm really looking forward to this vermillion!)

* Asa-gao

As a writer, she tends to prefer different inks for different stories or edits... so I'll just call her an enabler and be happy with it :-P

MB Racing Green...

Plug for FPN Tulipe Noir. Can't say enough good things about this color. It's my only Noodler's-made ink, but it's one of my favorites!

I have 12 ink samples coming from Pear Tree - in addition to the four I just got - so I can keep looking for my favorites! So far I love J Herbin's Cafe des Iles, Noodlers Antietam and La Coleur Royale, Herbin's Eclat de Saphir, Sailor's Red Brown, and I bought two pens on eBay for my sample of BSB that's coming in these new samples.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
