I'm going to wait until I see the actual shade of red before I plunk down for it. I'm rather picky about that color, but I'm definitely excited! Thanks for the update!

yuck. I hate red, really sorry I missed the orange though.

:headsmack: You mean they made an orange one?

I just bought four on impulse and am thinking about adding either the black or the blue version, or both. I am staring a "vanishing point" family....

My favorite is the first one that I bought, the yellow version.

With Aloha,

Clarence

Hi Kamiyashi,

We'll see what the shade turns out to be. So far the LE VPs have been pretty nice - am sure they will choose a "good" red for this one.

@pixwriter, there are oranges around from time to time. If you keep your eyes out, I'm sure one will come to you. Now, the turquoise on the other hand...

While the collector in me wants it to be lovely, my bank account is hoping I'll hate it. :roflmho:

The only one I've really regretted not picking up is the Ice Blue one. :crybaby:

Nonsense. You'll sell me those 4 B nibbed Van Goghs you got and have plenty. :bunny01: [This is me NOT holding my breath.]

Best not to hold your breath, because I'd feel terrible if you passed out from waiting. :bunny01: Even though I know you'd be the one to appreciate the beauty of the boldness~~!

After all, four one of a kind Visconti Van Goghs do not equal a single Vanishing Point LE. :ltcapd:

Thanks for the tip. As I thought, the LE colours tend to be eye-catching so I expect "Vivid Red" to be an eye-searingly bright red, much brighter than the run-of-the-mill red Capless.

I really wish I'd got hold of one of the 2007 LEs (the orange one) just so I could fill it with Diamine Orange...hmmm...Kia-Ora...

The red sounds nice. I've got a green with gold trim... red with rhodium reminds me of a sportscar. :D I wonder if they'd ever entertain red with gold. That's a combination I can rarely resist.

I like VPs in non traditional FP colors. Its design is somewhat unique (and quirky) and different from other pens and colors such as red, yellow, orange, and etc seem to fit well with its design. I like colors such as blue, black, and dark green for more traditional looking fountain pens (MB, Pelikan, and etc).

My collection: 149 EF/F/B/OBB, Collodi B/Twain F/Mann F, 146 M, Silver Barley F, M1000/M800 B'o'B/M800 Tortoise/Sahara/415 BT/215/205 Blue Demo, Optima Demo Red M/88 EF & Italic/Europa, Emotica, 2K/Safaris/Al-Stars/Vista, Edson DB/Carene BS, Pilot 845/823/742/743/Silvern/M90/Makies, Sailor Profit Realo M/KOP Makies/Profit Makies/Profit 21 Naginata MF&M/KOP/KOP Mosaiques/Sterling Silvers,Platinum #3776 Celluloids/Izumos/Wood pens/Sterling Silvers,YoL Grand Victorian, and more (I lost counting)

Eh... why not just get one of the red Kasuri (carbonesque) versions? There were some red vanishing point versions in the past. Repeating the color with a slight shading change is so minimal, and not distinctive enough for real attraction. It's similar to what they did with orange/yellow. But, in the end, I'm kind of glad it isn't more distinctive--I won't be tempted to blow money I should be saving for food!

Wow -- a 'vivid red' VP for this year! A bright, true red is the dream color. Oh, first the pink Lamy Safari and now this...the fountain pen gods are smiling on me. Here's to a nice, pen-budget-busted summer. :D

It's only an addiction if you try to stop.

...a vivid Red "yum".

I am a nut for red inks and bought the Sesenta Red/black because it was the only red ...looks like its going to have a 'friend'. Thanks for the heads-up, this VP and the new (coming) Namiki Falcon is like saving up my pocket money in advance of their release ...much kinder than the I MUST HAVE, SPEND ALL MONEY way of buying a pen.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
