While color can vary across reviews, bought on the strength of this (and Carpedavid's) review, I'm pleased to report that mine looks exactly like this. It's the red I've been searching for and I don't see myself getting bored with it after a few day's use like I usually do with reds.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

I use several different reds, all of which I like [obviously - wouldn't use them if I didn't like them], but this is the only one that is always in a pen I use frequently if not daily.

I hadn't filled with this for a long while and when I did, I realized that it really is not nearly so red as it is brown (I've been exploring true reds recently). Close to Diamine Ancient Copper (which is a bit oranger), very close to Monteverde Fireopal, and Diamine Syrah (which is little more purple). It is a good everyday ink color, easy on the eyes, but I no longer think of it as red.

You know, on its own, it's never struck me as looking brown, just a nice, deep red. However, on the same page with Pinkly!, it suddenly does look brown-ish.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

I use red inks more than any other colour, and nine times out of ten I reach for Diamine Monaco Red.  Great color and not expensive.

This is the only red I've used so far; i'm usually more drawn to the burgundy/violet end of the red spectrum. I find that the quality of the light really makes a difference; when i'm writing with it in the evening, ie under a focused halogen light, it seems brown. But when i look at the results in daylight, the red comes through, and it's really very pleasant. Understated. I've had my Pelikan 200 loaded with it for months now. Haven't gotten tired of seeing it yet.
