I'll make this the official list, so if you do not see your name on this list, please email me and I'll update. To avoid making this thread too long like the other, please do not post reply to this thread. Thanks

Also to be clear, the list is for fans of Danitrio, this does not mean you have to purchase the "club" pen at all, so absolutely no pressure to join the list.

Just to recap, so the goal is not lost in the other thread.

An ING account has been set up by me with initial donation of $200 to get us going. Part of the proceed from the club pen will be going to this general fund. Any future purchases by owner of these 50 pens, part of the proceed will also go to this fund. The holder of these 50 club pens will also get an year end account statement detailing how much is in the general fund. So, if you ever sell your pen to someone else, I would appreciate letting me know, so I can forward the necessary information to the new owner.

Anyone can donate to this fund, BUT strickly voluntary basis, and some of you have already done so. The fund will be used for something like renting meeting places, to cut down on some travel expenses to Japan for instance, Danitrio parties... just some ideas. While the account will be transparant to owners of the club pen, it is under my name and I pay taxes on these, not a big deal really.

So, I would appreciate if you would email me your email addresses (don't use PM please), and I'll get a group email list going for future communication. Thanks

Kevin

I would like to be added to the list. I want to buy a Danitrio. I have been browsing the web for sites to purchase the pen. Which site is the most reliable?

Thanks,

Ron P.

As I recall, this list was started for those who wanted or who bought the special (and limited) Danitrio Fellowship pen in 2009.

Just purchased my first Danitrio Urushi Kawari-Nuri Maki-e Golden Amber Peony Pattern Fountain Pen with a Fine 18k nib from Chatterley Luxuries.

No reply for me. I've tried twice. Does anyone know of a helpful site for Danitrio lovers?

Hey all. Anyone interested in the hard to come by fellowship pen, Bryant at Chatterley Luxuries has one on his site right now. No affiliation. If I did not have one I would buy it.

It stayed within FPN!

I decided to reward myself after a particularly busy May by window-shopping for maki-e pens (as one does) and saw it on Bryant's site. I missed out on one in the Classifieds a couple years ago and regretted it; I told myself that if I ever saw one again I would get it with no hesitation. And so I did! It's everything I hoped it would be (now with a smooth EF nib and inked with Pelikan Amethyst). Unfortunately, as stated on the listing, the original box/pillow/kimono were missing. But I got over that pretty quickly after seeing the pen. Also, Bryant made up for it with a spiffy nib-shaped bookmark :)

Excellent. I am glad it went to an enthusiastic member here and you were kind enough to let us know you got it! It is a great pen and they rarely come up for sale. That's only the third one I recall seeing for public sale. Enjoy your new treasure.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
