  1. I have been trying to figure out the De Atramentis Brown Inks (especially the cooler end) for a while. An earlier thread is here. Having added a few more since, including, to me, a couple of real winners, and having found it impossible to find reviews for some of these elsewhere, I thought it worth making an updated record here. The De Atramentis inks are numbered, the marginalia are for reference. Being De Atramentis, each of these may be available under a variety of names, and some of the names may even get switched around - my only goal here is to provide a "first taste"!
  2. 3 De Atramentis Brown Inks that I couldn't find distinguished elsewhere. Umber : Havanna : York Brown (with a few other tobacco leaves thrown in)

    Grain In The Beard

From "Seasonal Terms", a range in the same line and octagonal bottles as "Ancient Charm" (but without the shimmer) - so is that Pen BBS? Last year at the LA Pen Show I picked up "Beginning of Spring" (like Alt-GoldGrun but browner - the bottom row in the illustration) and "Beginning of Summer", both of which are rather nice, but "Grain in the Beard" was sold out. One year later and perseverance pays off! Now why was it again that the Mesopotamians turned from hunter-gatherers to farming?
  4. Hi everyone I’ve really started to enjoy brown inks over the last couple of months after ordering samples and a few bottles mainly from the great comparisons and reviews that are being posted! I am very curious about two De Atramentis brown inks that I haven't been able to find any information on: York Brown and Van Dyck Brown. I was hoping to be able to order samples of them but the Goulets, Andersonpens and isellpens don’t carry either shade. Has anyone tried them yet? If so how do you like them and do you have any writing samples that you could share? Also since DeA sometimes rebottles standard inks as scented or character inks, does anyone know if these have a double that can be ordered in sample form? Thank you for your help! http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f99/emrys1221/1067_14_zpsobxgujd9.jpg http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f99/emrys1221/1068_14_zps64n0f5m7.jpg
