  1. I've long liked Asa Gao but thought it came out too dark in several pens I tried. I settled on a Pelikan m600 with an 18k F nib, which had the advantage of showing some shading, but still came out dark. Then came along Hisoku which needed a pen that made it come out with the same colour consistently, and Asa Gao lost its home, although I'm waiting for another Pelikan. http://i66.tinypic.com/2eygh7t.jpg In the meantime I remembered I had a busted Waterman Lauréat with a nice nib, which leaks all its ink onto its cap, rendering it useless; and a no name pen a friend gave me some time ago, wh

    Waterman Ideal Nib

I have an art deco Waterman Ideal 32 1/2 fountain pen and pencil set which I bought as part of my early plastics collection. Trying to downsize so, while listing it for online auction, I noticed the nib isn't marked as gold. I assumed that Waterman's would have gold nibs but there's nothing but the Waterman's trademark on the nib. Did Waterman's use other metals for their nibs, please? (I tried to upload a pic but the file was too big) EDIT - resized and tried again - thank you for the advice!

  4. I am looking at a pen with the above noted nib. It is a waterman 94 I have not seen this nib before and I have looked at thousands of a waterman pens(I am a picker so I am always searching the internet for pens especially Watermans). There is no reference to this nib on the many nib sites I use for information about nibs Anyone seen one or got one ? I assume it is rare because I have not come across one but I want to be sure before I buy the pen All info APPRECIATED KEITH
  5. I would like to know if this pen has any value at all since I can't find a single reference to it online. I bought it from a local stationery store in Florida about 12 or 13 years ago and have rarely used it because it has a medium nib, and the line is just too broad for me. It's also a little heavy with the cap posted and tires out my hand pretty quickly. It's a lovely pen, it has an 18k Waterman nib, it's well made and in perfect working order - it's just not for me, I'm afraid. I previously posted about the ink around the top of the nib and have since found out it's called "nib creep" and i
