  1. Just got this and love it. Just about to ink it up.....it's so tactile. Gorgeous. Parker 51 with 'snail' bands....on the cap, and the barrel. Lovely to just hold and fouter with. The base is blank, a solid brass circle, which could be engraved.....any suggestions on how this might be done/by whom/where? I'm not planning to do it now, but might in the future, more than likely with the symbol on my ring which is in one of the photos(Order of the Unified Heart.....Leonard Cohen fans' symbol) Alex
  2. Hello there, I am currently back in school at 31 yrs old to get my Associate in Information Technology / Network Administration. And I also work in the IT field as helpdesk for now, hey you gotta start somewhere. I love everything about Networking and Networking Administration but I also love fountain pens new and old. I have been really wanting to start using Wax seals for my letters and want to get a custom wax stamper made. I don't want something generic like my initials. I would really like something related to Networking that would signify my love for the field. Something geeky and awesome to anyone that knew what it was but also still look cool for those that have no idea what it is lol. I had a few ideas in my head that I tried sketching out but honestly, I'm not a creative person at all. The only thing I really came up with was a cisco router or switch with some ethernet cables coming out of it and some binary 1s and 0s floating along the cable. So I could use some help and suggestions from people more creative than I who are knowledgeable in networking to maybe help me with some ideas? Thanks!

    Sealing Wax

I have this problem of the wax sticking to the stamp, what am I doing wrong? How can this problem solved? Thank you in advance.
  4. I seldom saw a Parker 51 pen's guarantee card come with a stamp until my friend showed his pen which was bought in 1972. Amazing! Do your Parker 51 warranty card come with a stamp? If so, show it through your photo! I also want to know the shops' names and watch their warranty stamps' design!
  5. Hi, A couple of years ago my Dad found some lovely old sealing wax which he gave me. It doesn't have a wick, and is the traditional brittle kind. I am sadly starting to get to the end of my stock of this lovely wax and need to buy some more, however I am really struggling to find anything similar (for a decent price). The closest thing I can find is something called "Bank of England" sealing wax, however J.Herbin "Cire Banque" looks like it might be pretty similar. The difficulty I'm having is that I can only find this was in bulk boxes that are £60-£80 each, really I'm only after a couple of sticks and looking to spend £20ish. Does anyone know where I can get this type of wax for a decent price in the UK? (I'm after Red/Crimson, Blue and Gold). Thanks for your help. Joe

Parker Big Red On Usps Stamp

A few years back I signed a petition that was floating around on FPN for the United States Postal Service to create a stamp with a fountain pen on it. As far as I know, nothing came of it. However, there is a Parker Big Red on a "forever" stamp honoring Gerald Murphy ("Razor," 1924) in the current first-class series "Modern Art in America." I wonder if there are other stamps from either the US or other countries which picture fountain pens? Admin: If this post is better placed on another board, please do so.
