Hi. This is my first post . I'd love to identify this pen and it's age - and then see if I can replace the cap which has broken. The pen is all stainless steel. Overall length with cap on is approx 128mm (5 inches). The pen nib says SheafferS 341. I recall it had a rubber bladder that perished and I've replaced with a plastic piston converter. The metal and rings design seems a little unusual however searching online I haven't noticed anything that seems similar. (Thank you! I'm quite excited to finally be close to learning about it!) The cap has a hard plastic insert that grips the pen body. That hard plastic bit has broken, which means the top of the cap can no longer be attached, hence the sticky tape keeping it on and the clip lying nearby. Do you think I might find a replacement cap for it? Many thanks.

Just got a Lamy 2K Iconic Stainless Steel, 14k m nib, for few days. Quite a lot of info can be found everywhere I guess yet here are some my little review. ProsExcellent finishingStylistic (my major push-buy-button reason)Smooth wet nibNo hard start, no skipping, won't dry out over-nightLine variation (it surprises me)Good clipPiston fillerGood price with 10% off form cult (compare the price in HK)Write right out from the box ConsReally heavy, surely not for long writing, also not good for shirt pocket.Comparatively small sweet area for the nibCan't see the ink levelStill some ink remains on the section area (using Iroshizuku-murasaki-shikibu)Whole pen, a little bit slippery. (Maybe I don't have a wet hand...) About the weight: it is 55g capped (uncapped 36g).My capped Pilot CH92 PLUS Custom 74 = 44g. Hi everyone, I am currently considering buying the Karas Kustoms Ink fountain pen. I am having trouble deciding on a nib material. I want a very rugged pen that I will be able to carry around without fear of breaking and so I also want a nib that will stand the test of time, i.e. resist to corrosion, not bend beyond repair too easily (although I am not much of a flex writer, I don't enjoy a stiff nib either) and generally be easy to maintain. The gold nib is out for me though just because I feel like it really doesn't fit wit the rest of the pen's design although if they ever came out with gold furniture gold would certainly be my main option. Or maybe you will convince me to pick gold despite the clip being silver coloured. I was wondering if I should just go with stainless steel or take a risk with titanium (even though Richard Binder seems to really strongly recommend against using titanium)? PEN REVIEW - JINHAO 156 This review is probably late for a a pen which i procured 3 months back. I bought this pen the moment i took a look at it. It looks fabulous as you can see from the image below. Its a beautiful looking shiny silver chrome plated metal pen with a slim and slender profile. Design : The pen is quite sleek which is rounded at the bottom and the cap is fitted with metal clip which is finished in the matte silver finish. The pen comes in two finished stainless steel finish and black shiny finish. The grip section is finished in the matte sliver finish with the rings engraved. The pen operates via a converter filling mechanism which is sub standard in quality. The center-band (bottom of the cap) is finished in matte silver finish which displays the name of the brand and pen. The cap comes with the good spring clip and inner cap lining which is made out of cheep plastic and came out once or twice which then i had to glue to the cap. The silver stainless steel finish is easily prone to smudges but still looks amazing. The balance of pen is not that well when we post the cap, however it feels very amazing when writing without the cap. Fits my small hands perfectly. It will be good for people with small hands and actually lot of ladies will like the pen for size and looks. JInhao 156 – Broken DownNib: The nib is steel M, marked 18 KGP comes with beautiful carving. Its monotone silver finish. The nib however is a disappointment when it comes to writing. It did not glide through like my other Jinhao pens, rather i had to apply some pressure to write. Even after some fine tuning i was not happy with the performance of a nib. Feed is made of the plastic. Pros: Great Stainless Steel Finish Sleek and Slender Low CostCons: Poor inner lining plastic cap Bad Nib Cheap quality converterBelow is my hand written review in detail for further reference. Bottom line: I will not recommend buying it.

I have been gifted this Waterman pen by a friend, and she tells me it isn't an expensive model, but I can't find out which model it is. Please can anyone identify it? The converter works but has a split in the metal near the front where it fits into the section. I know that it's a CF type of converter from the fitting, so I bought a new one. Sadly, although it fits into the section, it's a smaller diameter than this one that is split. I assume it will still work though. I know these converters aren't easily available.

Hey all, So I've always been partial to all chrome/"white metal" pens since buying my first "real" pen -- a Sheaffer Javelin. I'm thinking of introducing a new branch to my collection of these pens and I'm asking for assistance in gathering alternatives. There are four limiting parameters: 1) the pen cannot have gold furniture (i.e., it must have chrome/rhodium trim), 2) the pen must have a gold nib/gold nib option available (rhodium plated), and 3) the pen needs to be relatively affordable (i.e., no limited editions, YoLs are probably out, too). Hello Everybody Like I say in the title I’m looking to buy a new fountain pen, but I have a profile for what I’m looking for. I’m not in the rush; maybe I’ll but it in the next 2 months. I have a list with some pens that I like how look like is and I’m waiting for expert’s opinion. So let’s start, in the order that I prefer: Pilot MR , price £19, online UK Sheaffer 100, price £27 DeGruchy Store Parker Frontier flighter, price £9, shipped from India Jinhao X750, price £6, shipped from China Sheaffer Targa, vintage, Ebay from £25Now the features for my likes: All brushed metal, S. SteelGood balance, Heavy (25-35grams)About 14-15cm long, cap onNot too thin/thick (~1,3 cm)F to M, wet and smooth nib (like Lamy Safari nibs)Strong pocket clip, chrome trimsSecure post capEasy to clean, maintainInternational cartridges/converter (i know Parker and Sheaffer are using proprietary system) I did try to catch everything I want from a daily pen, mainly used for quick notes, quick writing on cheap paper. My first choice will be Pilot MR because of international C/C filling system, but I don't know how looks in reality, I’ve seen only online...The second pen, Sheaffer 100 I’ve seen in the shop and is very good looking pen, witch thick all my boxes except filling system. Any other pens that you think I should have a look please recommend it.
