    New Member Introduction

Hi, everyone! I wanted to introduce myself to this network. I have been a long-time pen enthusiast, and am the owner of luxury pen retailer Truphae, Inc. We specialize in high-end luxury pens from companies like Aurora, Montegrappa, ST Dupont, Visconti, etc...and have great relationships with them as well. We also carry brands such as Pelikan, Cartier, and many others. Our goal is to find the coolest pens around, particularly rare ones that many other people would have a hard time sourcing. We not only sell, but buy and consign as well. Looking forward to getting to know you all better! ~Chris

    Violet - St Dupont

St Dupont Paris is a brand name and manufacturer of lighters, collectible pens, handbags, perfumes (produced under license by Interparfums) and other gadgets using the trademark diamond-head pattern. The company has been producing luxury items since its founding in 1872. The founder of the brand, Simon Tissot-Dupont, was born in Savoy in 1847 - the company owes its initials to him. It seems at the moment they offer only two inks in bottle (black and blue) and two more in cartridges. SOme time ago their inky offer was wider and counted 5 inks: Bleu Bleu Ciel Noir Sienne Turquoise Michael R. sent me samples of few (dozens) inks, St Dupont among others. Violet was stunning ink. I'm not sure if the one sold currently in the cartridges looks familiar. ANyway the ink has great flow, nice lubrication and is quite water resistant. Ink Splash Drops of ink on kitchen towel Software ID Tomoe River, Kaweco Sport Classic, B Leuchtturm 1917, Kaweco Sport, B Eversharp Skyline, Lyreco Water resistance Comparison will be added during weekend

  5. We recently reviewed the S.T. Dupont Conquest of the Wild West set, and wanted to share our thoughts below. Most importantly, we have the fountain pen on sale! Would love to hear your thoughts or any questions! S.T. Dupont Limited Edition Conquest of the Wild West Set Certain things are known to pair well together, particularly in the world of luxuries. From food pairings like wine and cheese to complementing ties with pocket squares in men’s fashion, it’s hard not to appreciate a good set of items that feel like they were born together. What S.T. Dupont has done with their Limited Edition Conquest of the Wild West set is just that – paired a pen and lighter that match so well together, it will be the desire of any fountain pen enthusiast, lighter collector, or luxury goods fanatic! Oh, and they threw in a cigar punch to boot! The Lighter and Cigar Cutter The Ligne 2 Conquest of the Wild West lighter is truly something else. S.T. Dupont is known for using only the finest materials, and this lighter is no exception, with its palladium finish and black lacquer. From the perspective of a lighter aficionado, they’d be happy to know that the characteristic “ping” when the lid is opened is of course present in this model as well. The roller is also sculpted for a better grip, and the flame adjustment button and filling valve have been conceived for the best ergonomics. The Wild West theme of this collection is most evident in the middle of the lighter, where a full bullet hole strikes through the center of this magnificent piece. The gun smoke and dust surrounding the bullet hole and the crossed pistols at the top of the lid drive the whole theme together. A beautiful stainless steel chain accents the lighter and can be removed as needed. The cigar punch (cutter) is the perfect match for the lighter, and is certainly a rarity that you won’t find with just any luxury brand! The Pen and Ink The beautiful S.T. Dupont Limited Edition Conquest of the Wild West pen features a gorgeous cap that instantly gives an old timey saloon feel – a perfect complement to the lighter. As part of the Line D, the artistry is inspired by both research into the past and the current handiwork of S.T. Dupont’s master lacquerers. This natural lacquer for the larger proportioned pen somehow still gives it a streamlined look. The extraordinary writing instrument is available in ballpoint (with twist mechanism), convertible rollerball (easily converts to a ball pen or felt-tip with a refill change), and fountain (with 14K gold nib). And don’t forget your shield-shaped bottle of ink while you’re at it ~ the royal blue, as shown in the main photo, is totally stunning! What Makes S.T. Dupont the Right Fit? S.T. Dupont has an almost 150-year history of creating these types of luxury goods for the savvy collector… but how? Their quest for sustainability is probably one of the main reasons they have been able to turn these items into a lasting legacy. From responsible lacquer management, to fair trade processes, to replanting in the natural environments where they source supplies, it feels like S.T. Dupont has truly figured out how to make something good last. Their engraving techniques (such as guilloche), expert lacquering skills (sometimes up to 10 layers!), and use of only the best precious metals all contribute to the richness of this company’s goods. How Can I Make These Mine? We are currently offering these pieces (purchased together or individually) through our website. They are of course in brand new and unused condition (with all boxes and papers), and come with a two-year warranty! https://www.truphaeinc.com/blogs/truphae-news-and-stories/s-t-dupont-limited-edition-conquest-of-the-wild-west-prestige-collection-fountain-pen-lighter-and-smoking-kit

    Hi, Need Pen Help

I'm looking for someone with a vast knowledge of ST Dupont pens. We've found some in our inventory, and we're having issues finding information and market right pricing. If you know your ST Dupont, we need to talk! Thanks in Advance!
  7. I came across this pen at an estate sale of a pretty wealthy individual and was hoping that someone could help me identify it. The individual had several quality pens, but the only 2 that caught my eye were one that is still in its original box with plenty of identification to go along with it, and this guy. It has a model number on the side of the clip and I have made an inquiry to S.T. Dupont, but have yet to hear anything. I have found a few that look similar, but nothing that matches this. I was hoping that someone here would be able to help me out. http://imgur.com/a/iqeIQ
  8. The mythological animal, Phoenix, has been watching over S.T Dupont ever since the brand was founded, giving them a passionate love for fire that transformed into art! This summer the Phoenix has reborn bringing three new collections: Phoenix Diamond, Phoenix Prestige and Phoenix Premium The Prestige collection: Natural laquer is enhanced by gold-finished insert. Every piece is hand-made individually and adorned with two citrine stones, the pen comes with a hand-sculpted Phoenix statue on a matching lacquered stand. They are enhanced by gracefully engraved details with palladium finishes. You may complete the collection with matching cufflinks and luxury lighter. Limited to 2016 pieces. The Diamond collection: Smoky violet and black lacquer makes the perfect combination with the hand-scupted Phoenix which is plated with precious platinum. 9. My wife started my addiction with a special birthday MB 146 eight years ago. This year it was almost a S T Dupont D line, but while S T Dupont is IMHO one of the best pen makers, I didn't like the pen for the price. I LOVE my OPUS X, and didn't think the D line had a place in my heart. Not being into geocaching or Pokemon Go, I AM into pen hunting while travelling. We just did the Baltic states. Found a beautiful old Pelikin tortoise, with box, that i thought would be a sumgai, only to find the nib and feed had been completely wadded up like a chewing gum wrapper and pulverized respectively. Also, I am completely ignorant of old Pelikans, although I wondered whether that pen was worth salvaging. Did they eve Pelikans with real tortoiseshell? That is what it looked like to me. My birthday pen, which also commemorated our European trip, as well as three lucky nights at a casino, was the Graf Von Faber Castell Platino Intuition Ebony, with a BB nib, purchased at a great price from a sweet Frau in Kiel despite our not having a common language. This model has the big nib, and is made with impeccable craftsmenship, and is a great, smooth writer (as wide nibs frequenly are), with good line variation especially with light pressure. Dare I say the quality seems at least on par with ST Dupont? I will post the particulars of that shop when I find her business card. My decision agaist the D line ST Dupont was sealed when I realized that I could get some fantastic LE Duponts at lower prices at Chatterly Pens. I Think I've learned always to check that site before I make a buying decision. I have had great deals from. Bryant, mainly at the L A show over the years, and have benefitted from his great customer service and caring attention to my wants and needs, including my incesant question and need to fondle alll his stock. Usually disclaimer, just a gratified customer and no conflict of interests to report. Please post your opinions of these ST Dupont LE's if you will. I am still tempted, but my budget is devoted to other things at least until December. Here is rhe link. https://chatterleyluxuries.com/about/ Cheers, Adam

  11. Hi everyone, I recently had the chance to interview Alain Crevet, the CEO of ST Dupont. We have touched on many topics like: - change of current lacquer and return to all-natural vegetal extract lacquer for all pen collection - possibility of an event dedicated to pen brands only. Something like Basel World or SIHH - the collaborations with Star Wars, Bond and Marvel - the future of the luxury pen market and more I thought it might be interesting for the ST Dupont lovers to find the latest regarding the brand directly from the man at the helm. 13. All contemporary S.T. Dupont pens have articulated clips, as far as I know. Was this a feature of the later Classique 1 pens as well? I have recently acquired an S.T. Dupont Classique 1 updated model (1980-1990s), with the click-closure cap, shorter cap length and La Plume Ultime nib. I am convinced the pen is genuine but I am mystified by the clip. Looking at the clip, the external appearance is the same as all earlier squared-edge clips on Dupont pens and I would assume it is sprung, like those other models; however, on my Classique, there is no articulation of the clip at all. Do these Classiques have articulated clips, or is mine stuck? From distant memory, I recall that my father's early Classique ballpoint had an articulated clip (authenticity guaranteed, again,) but I cannot be sure based on that mere memory. I have searched the forums but I have not found much information relating to something as obscure, or specific, as this. Any help, especially from Classique owners, is much appreciated.

  15. So I found some of my grandpa's old fountain pens and am just wondering what type they are, roughly when they were sold, how much they are worth (if not still in production), and thought that this forum would be the perfect place to help. Also, which refills would go with these pens? I'm new to this, and am just using the cheap "preppy" pens I bought from JetPens. I'm thinking my Grandpa got these around the late 80s or early 90s if that would be any help. Thanks. The pictures are attached below: http://imgur.com/fFvO4N3.jpg http://imgur.com/sCSQwuW.jpg The tips seem to say 18 ct. with the number 750 below D logo. Also, the caps seem to have the words "ST Dupont" "Lacque De Chine" and "Paris". Any help would be welcome.
  16. Looking for any information on the sign maker of 2 Chinese characters on all Dupont lacquer items and when this was discontinued. Thank you!
  17. Hi, I realise this forum is for fountain pens. But can't find details on a ballpoint and thought someone here may know about it- or point me to somewhere where I can read more. I'm giving a S.T. Dupont Olympio Ballpoint as a gift, as I can't afford a new one I've opted for a second hand one. I believed that S.T. Dupont wasn't the sort of brand that attracted counterfeiters, however after doing some research I've become concerned. Are fake ballpoints common? Is there anyway to detect one? Should the leaf logo be etched on to the lacquer as in the case of the fountain pen? A few ads have said that the pen has the leaf logo- but show no pictures of it and all seem to be using the same text- including serial number and typo. So I'm not giving them much weight. I read on another forum thread that an article has been written about ST Dupont authenticity- but I can't get the link to work. I have attached some photos. Thank you (in advance) for taking the time to consider this, Katie *edited to add full size pics
