  1. I need to stop topping up my orders with converters to make the 'free shipping' threshold for delivery in/to Australia. Sometimes I did it even if I have to pay for shipping (typically from Japan), since the converters weigh next to nothing, and buying from Japan could mean I save up to nominally a 100% markup compared to buying locally. Maybe I need to get out more, but I haven't come across any pen shop in Australia that claims to have a close or special relationship with Platinum, Pilot or Sailor in Japan to offer me the level of access, assurance or service in general that online ordering won't. Anyway, I now have: 12 new/'spare' Pilot CON-40 converters2 new/'spare' Pilot CON-70 converters16 new/'spare' Platinum converters, mostly the standard one with 'gold' trim but also a few with chrome trim, and another 3 on the way13 new/'spare' Sailor converters (for 1911/Pro Gear/etc. and not the Chalana) in various colours, and 7 more on the waynot as many spare Lamy converters, but I have a fewnot including the converters I have used but since cleaned. I also have a bunch of desk pens in the three brands, as well as a bunch of Platinum Preppy, Pilot Penmanship and Sailor HiAce Neo pens without converters inserted or assigned right now. Generally I try to keep to about 4 or 5 more converters in each brand than I have pens that use them. Oh, and because I discovered that I could still get new Pilot CON-50 converters (which I happen to like in my Pilot Vanishing Point pens) by getting old stock of Pilot Prera pens, I just picked three of them up as well. That's not counting the eight or so Pilot press-plate converters that came with Pilot MR and 78G pens, which work fine except in Pilot VP pens.

    Montblanc #14 Top Cap

Hi to everybody. I own a Montblanc #14 from my father and unfortunately the top cap is broken. I mean the screw piece that fixes the clip on the main cap, where the Montblanc logo is shown. I have the possibility of purchasing the same piece from a Montblanc #32 which appears to be pretty similar. As I have seen it in a picture (no the real thing) I would very grateful if someone could tell me if the #32 top cap fits the #14 one. You can see the piece in the attached file. Thank you in advance. Víctor.
  3. Hello everybody, this is my first post -- and I apologize in advance to member Hari317 for borrowing his photo to illustrate my problem. I am restoring a first-year (1987, I think) Pelikan M800. It is missing the piston filler cap, and I am having trouble locating a spare. Does anyone have any advice as to where I might find one? It is the final piece on the right of Hari317's exploded assembly below. Many thanks! http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn307/hari-b/Pelikan%20Piston%20Filler/IMG_8307.jpg

    Parker Pens Vintage Dealer Items

As a Newbie I thought I would share some pictures of some Parker Pen dealer items I inherited a few years ago but I've only just got around to sorting through. I couldn't find any of these on a Google search so I guess they are pretty rare let along the amount of spare parts the repair kit contained. I haven't got any idea of the manufacture date and guess the items would span quite a few decades as the shop opened in the 1850's and closed in the early 1990's when everything that was unsold was boxed up and stored. The price tags are pre-decimalisation (1973) and the manual doesn't appear to have any dates in it or the supplements/covering letter (the cover is a bit battered but the contents are in okay condition). Any help in dating any of the items would be greatly appreciated. Anyway, thought you may be interested. I would like to scan the manual at some stage and make the PDF available (maybe uploaded to a reference section on the forum) but that will take quite some time as there are a good few hundred pages. Regards
