  1. Ok, I looked at some discussions of how to remove the feed section and all from a Sheaffer 440 and I was going to give it a go. The feed on my NOS Sheaffer is off center to the point that it is not even touching the left side tine of the nib where the feed ends. The nib is a little scratchy and I thought this may be the problem. Well here's what happened. Of course I can remove the barrel from the section and the converter from the pen, but that's it. I cannot remove the metal section (with the threading) from the nib to get at the feed. This is the first time I have ever tried to work on

    Sheaffer 440

    I have a nice Sheaffer 440 that I just filled and am still working on the first converter full of ink. I have noticed a few things though. The back stroke (I am right handed) is a little scratchy,at first it was really scratchy and sipped a bit but it seems to have broken in a bit to where it is only a little scratchy (still more so than my Lamy). I also noticed that the feed under the nib is fairly off center. So much so that the left hand tine has almost no "feed" under it where the feed ends.     Noodler's 12/25 Ahab!

    My Noodler's 12/25 Ahab just came in the mail. I highly recommend Isellpens for online orders. The pen shipped VERY quickly and Todd included a courteous thank you note with the package. I am not a calligraphist, but I'll attempt calligraphy sometime soon for letter writing and pure fun. So feel free to make fun of my awkward line variations in the writing sample. Actually, many of those jumps between thick and thin lines were unintentional since I'm getting used to this pen. Before I get to the pen itself, I have to say that the pen's box is really really cool! I love the whole whaling t
