A thread here mentions a Sears catalog with a Webster pen which has an exclusive filler which "winds like a watch". The cap has a clip similar to Sheaffer military clips. The cap and barrel material reminds me of Parker shadow waves. The nib is a well-made 14k marked Webster Gold Star and the barrel is marked Webster Made in USA. The knob on the end is stamped in two places with arrows indicating direction. Turning in the direction of the arrows (clockwise, these are left-hand threads) reveals threads attached to and turning with the knob. The knob turns until about 1/8" of threads are revealed, then stops hard. I have been working on removing the section with no luck so far. I assume it is some kind of piston filler, but can anyone tell me what I can expect to find once I get the section loose? Brian

Yesterday I stopped by a usual place I check out regularly and bought a batch of vintage pens he had. One of the pens was the one pictured below. I have read some of the posts about what companies made Sears pens, but this one only has the Sears Roebuck and Co. logo. It has a slip on cap. The barrel does not have any writing on it but the cap does. And yes, the logo is doubled printed on the cap. It has a pretty worn "Warranty 14K" nib. Other than the nib, it is in great condition. It came with the box (no instructions). It is BCHR and probably early 1920's. It measures 5 3/4-inches capped, 4 13/16-inches uncapped and 6 3/4-inches posted.. I would appreciate any information any of your could share with me about this pen since there is so-o-o little on the web.

Hello again, Everyone! Newbie here again who went out and spent a little money today (and this emoticon would represent my wife: ). This is a button filler stamped /engraved "Webster Chicago" then there's an empty diamond shape, then it reads "Pen - - ILL". The weird part is the stamping/engraving on the underside of the barrel. It appears to have been done at the factory, in the same style, and depth of the other stamping/engraving, only in a larger font. It reads "LILLIE TROJCAK" That is possibly a name (according to "The Google"), and it has me stumped as to why it would be on a pen. The nib appears to be gold, and not plated. It has a heart shaped breather hole. It is stamped "Gold Bond" over "14k" over 'Made in the USA". The bad: This pen is missing it's clip, it has some indentations like someone used to "nibble" on the end (not really chew, but left a few marks) and the ink sack was disintegrated. I removed most of the ink sack, very carefully, and removed the button mechanism to clean the pen (with no damage, I might add!). Question #1: Any idea of what size ink sac a Webster button filler would take? I'd like to keep this one as a writer. Question #2: Where would I begin to look for a replacement clip? Question #3: Is it worth it for this pen? I bought it because I like the colors of the celluloid, to be honest. I'd like to keep it and write with it. Was $20.00 too much to spend on a pen in this condition? Probably..... --Eric
