  1. I use a Waterman Apostrophe rollerball with a Schneider Topball 850 eurosize refill. Sites like AliExpress offer quite a lot of refills that are sold as Jinhao, Baoer or Hero refills for what seems to be very low prices (even with shipping from China). Is it possible to use these refills in eurosize rollerball of a Waterman rollerball? Are refills from Jinhao, Hero or Baoer (in general) good value compared to eurosize refills from Schneider or Schmidt? What are your opinions about these Chinese refills?
  2. Hi, The only brown ink rollerball refills I've found are made by Montblanc. Since I can't afford a Montblanc rollerball pen, I was wondering if 1. anyone knows of brown ink refills made by anyone besides Montblanc; or 2. if anyone has personal experience with Montblanc rollerball refills fitting their non-Montblanc rollerball pens. The dimensions listed for Montblanc rollerball refills (brown, medium-point) are "6.1 x 0.4 x 0.4 inches" whereas the dimensions all other rollerball refills made by other brands (Sheaffer, Monteverde, etc) are different. Thanks in advance!
  3. A few years back I bought a Dunhill AD2000 Fountain pen, I liked a great deal. I always wanted the ful set, meaning Roller, BallPoint and Pencil if they made it. After a couple of unsuccessful trys I was able to buy the Ball point but it had an empty refill. Can any tell me the correct refill the one in the pen is not correct and interferes with proper use So Please if anyone knows let me know. Thanks Steven
  4. I've been looking for ballpoint refill alternatives for cross click. Is there any refill made by any other brand that fits cross click without any modifications or spacers?
  5. Hello there, does anybody know whether the Parker IM rollerball takes other refills than the original Parker one, e.g. the Pilot G-2 refill or the Uni-ball Signo UMR-87? Thanks for the help! Cheers, Luis
  6. If anyone can help its you guys! I just purchased a couple of pens. a restored pastel green Sheaffer Sentinel Snorkel (14K triumph nib) and its less appealing counterpart the ballpen. The pens are not in yet, but I did stumble upon a refill for the Sheaffer ballpoint. I immediately purchased it and tested the refill, and am not enthused to write with it. to be honest, I'll probably only use it when I'm in a pinch at a restaurant stuck sketching a design on a napkin, but I'm hoping to find a refill from perhaps another brand that has more glide and juiciness. Thanks in advance for the help! Cheers

Apologies if this is a stupid question but i have just dug out my cross townsend pen, last used about 15 years ago. It takes cartridges, that are apparently not even available on the Cross shop website! I have checked. As for cartridges, do cartridges come in any kind of industry standard dimensions...? Or is it only a matter of long cartridges and short cartridges.... or how does it work? From memory mine took shortish ones, but what width etc must they be? And if i cannot find a cross supplier how do I find cartridges that will go in? Even cross doesnt sell them. I have ordered a converter to make it a suck-up fountain pen (whatever they are called) so I can get around the issue if necessary, but I prefer cartridges as they are less messy. I am also trying to find Peacock Blue to no avail but maybe the Edelstein Aquamarine will do. Thank you for any light you can shed.

    Cross Click Refills

Hi people, I recently purchased a Cross Click Gel Pen as a gift for a friend. I was wondering if there are any cheaper alternatives for refills and if there are compatible refills without gel ink. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
  9. On Saturday I got the Limited Edition Dark Lilac Lamy Safari in Rollerball from the Atlanta Pen Show. I was wondering what refills besides the M63 fit in it? I heard that the Pilot G2 will fit in it. I got a replacement M63 for when I need it, but I wan't to try others that can fit in my pen. Thanks in advanced for all the help!
  10. Dear FPN er's, Every once in a while I like to use a ballpoint pen and so just the other day acquired on Ebay a NOS Dunhill Gemline (Old Style) Barley Gold Plated Ballpoint pen. Absolutely love it. I am having one heck of a time finding refills. Every place I look is out of stock. Can you recommend something that will work? And better yet a gel ink! Thanks, CharlieP
  11. Hi there, can anybody tell me what refills the Levenger L-Tech Rollerball does take? Thanks for your help! Luis
  12. Hello FPN friends, I am probably posting my query in the wrong section, but hopefully one of the many experts out there can either help me with a simple answer or direct me to the proper forum for me to ask my question. I recently bought a set of Lamy Studio Palladiums consisting of one fountain pen and one rollerball. Strangely, I now know much more about fountain pens while my understanding of simple writing implements of different orientations have begun to escape and bore me. I've been a sucker for all things related to paper, pens, ink and all of the great accessories that go along with them since my earliest memories. I digress. My question is simple. I tend to like a lot of variety in color,, point size, gel/liquid gel, etc. and see now that Lamy only offers a M63 proprietary ink refill for the rollerball, but with all of my other rollerballs I've easily outfitted them with my preferred Pentel Energel .05 needlepoint or .07 classic refills and have heard of the wide variety of Pilot g2 or standard G2 size units. I've been through several sites including the "refill finder" to order a few by figuring out the sizing requirements and/or hacks necessary to make gel refills fit. Can anyone help point me in the right direction? Since this is the inky thoughts forum I will include my ink question as well. There is a considerable amount of respect and happiness with Noodlers inks, both here and in reviews across the internet. I love the value and variety that Noodlers has to offer and who can resist the All American Nathan at their helm. However, I live at around 5500 ft at the vase of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains in Boulder, Colorado and every Noodlers ink I've ever ordered and inked up has been beyond poorly behaving. The viscous qualities are certainly not qualities, I find feathering, bleedthrough, and the dry time for every single one of them is neverending. I could go back to something I had written the previous and day and it will flunk the smudge test. They're beautiful colors, but somewhat useless. Any thoughts? Have you heard or seen anything like this? I am going to take them with me to the upcoming Colorado Pen Show in October and let others see for themselves, but thought while I was sucking up your valuable time with one inquiry, I'd throw in another. Thanks for so much help and education you've all generously offered over the last couple of years. It's been key to my deepening my passion for pens. Bodah
  13. Good morning FPN friends, I recently purchased a passport size journal from Arthur. I am wondering if anyone who has one of these what you are using for refills. I prefer lined but it is not absolutely necessary. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks, K

    Discontinued Gel Ink Ion Pens

Would really like to find source for the Cross short, stubby, retractable gel ink pen that apparently discontinued a few years ago. used to be sold at Staples. When you pull pen as if to separate each half the point is extended. When push the halves together the point retracts. They are black in color.would pay premium price. I think the pen was called ION Does anyone have some they would like to sell?
  15. Hi everyone, I'm new here and found your site while trying to figure out a pen I own. I was given it as a gift several years ago and recently came across it again in a box I unpacked. It's a black pen with silver and written on the cap is "Tsunami" with a little wave symbol on the clip. (See photo). I've searched all over the internet for information, but have found zip. I'd really like to use this pen, but don't have a cartridge for it and have no idea what type it would use. If anyone can give me any information or help, I'd be very grateful!
