  1. Hello everyone, I thought of starting a thread where we can show our latest ink purchases, i will start with the latest purchase i made recently of Pilot Irosizuku inks shown bellow:
  2. I am new to the fountain pen community, and I have only purchased one pen before, the Jinhao x750. I bought this pen on gouletpens.com, seeing their YouTube videos and other people buying from them made me decide they were a trustworthy retailer. I am looking for a Parker Vector for my next pen. However, gouletpen.com does not carry Parker pens, I cannot find any Parker Vectors on the Parker website, and there are none at my local office supply stores. What is a trustworthy retailer I can buy the Parker Vector from?
  3. Hello! I popped into Pen Friend in the Burlington Arcade in London today for a quick repair (the collar on my dad's old Sonnet had given up the ghost) and became thoroughly distracted, what with there being 40% off everything as they're closing down on Friday. My eye was caught by a lovely Swan Eternal in red (which I failed to note the model number of) and Garnet Lizard. Both seem to be in nice condition and write well. Pictures below. The original label prices are a little steep for my tastes, but the pens are lovely and with the discount it's more tempting. The Eternal is £690 and the Lizard £597. I'm rather new to pen collecting and was hoping some kind soul on here could tell me if either is a good purchase! Many thanks.
  4. It's your party! What ink would you want to receive or buy on your birthday? This can include any discontinued or LE inks you've always wanted too.
  5. I recently made a purchase from someone who is generally known to be a trusted seller of fountain pens here (I prefer to leave this anonymous because I do not want to tarnish anyone's reputation unless there has in fact been a problem). We communicated back and forth via e-mail over about a week and I finally decided to make the purchase. The pen was removed from the site, a Paypal payment request was sent to me and I paid the amount. Afterwards, I wanted to double check that the shipping address was correct, so I e-mailed back. After 3 days of no response, I e-mailed again. After 7 days, I e-mailed a third time. It's now been 10 days and I have had no communication: no confirmation of the correct shipping address, no mention whether the item has shipped and no tracking number. The only evidence suggesting that I will ever receive the pen is that the listing was removed from the site. How long would you wait without any communication before cancelling the payment via Paypal?
  6. I've been reminded today why I avoid ebay. The gods of Olympus were not smiling on me as I made a hasty purchase from a seller with good feedback (bar one). It was a Montblanc (my Achilles heel); in this case a little 242. The pen was described as being in excellent condition, working and having no dents, dings, cracks or any other problems. Said pen arrived and to my great dismay does not draw ink, has loose cap rings (which I could live with) and a crack in the cap. None of these issues are mentioned in the ebay ad nor visible in the photographs. I sent an email to ask for either a significant partial refund or a refund and return. They replied first of all with an offer of a refund that was frankly insulting and an accusation that what I was saying about the pen was not true. I rejected the offer and asked for a refund of half of the cost (not necessarily expecting to get that!), explaining why I thought this was fair considering what work would need to be done to the pen. I then get a response asking me to send the pen after 11th March (he says he is heading off on holiday) and on receipt he will issue a refund. Everything about this seems like a bad move to me, so I'm hoping that I might get some much needed advice here as to how to proceed. For those of you who have been through this process before, can you give me some advice as to the best and correct way to proceed?

I am thinking of purchasing a M205. I have read a number of reviews - some good, others bad - would you recommend getting one?

    My First Montblanc

Hello everyone! I am not only new to this site, but also to this particular forum and the world of Montblancs. I have practiced Calligraphy for some time now, and I have been thinking about buying a Montblanc pen, most probably the Meisterstuck. My question is the following; outside of a financial perspective, would you all recommend buying a modern Meisterstuck fountain pen, or going for a vintage one, and why? Once more, do not take finances into question as I am merely interested in the quality of the pen. Furthermore, if you would recommend something other than a Meisterstuck please do say so, along with why! Thank you all for taking the time to read, and hopefully answer, this!
  13. Hi, I am looking got get a big FP with a very big springy nib for every day use from general writing to signature use. I prefer brand new, even though there are great deals to be had in the used pen market because I feel the used market is risky. Also, I like the idea I was the only person who used the pen. I've reconciled with the idea of carrying a $1000 pen outside of my house. Thus, I am considering getting either a regular 149 or the 90th anniversary 149. I know most of the positive reasons to get a 149. What are reasons NOT to get the MB 149? I'll start the list: * The 149 resin is not durable to be carried outside of the house and would easily shatter when dropped
  14. I presume that some of you have purchased from the Omas Society. I wondered if the method of using credit card but having to send a copy of both sides, is considered to be secure or safe. Please let me know your thoughts and/or experiences. (Note to Moderators: please move this to a more appropriate forum if necessary.)
