Recently I discovered my Waterman 512 1/2 PSF with solid 14k gold overlay was made in at least 1915 instead of the 1908 I had thought due to the fact Waterman did not selling lever fillers until 1915. Is it possible to find out if this pen was only made for one year? Two?More? It seems Waterman doesn't have information on many of its older pens like this which I think is quite odd.
I put the V in question marks because I am not sure if I am just seeing things. I looked at the butt of the pen with my loupe and in between the number 512 and the letters PSF appears to be a big "V". Is this where the V would be if this were a 512V? Hope it isn't just an odd scratch. I am in need of an original cap clip for this pen and I also need to find out the best place to take/send the cap to have the new cap put in place and also have the cap opening made round again. It is just slightly out of round. Not enough to completely disrupt screwing it in. My issue is purely cosmetic on that one. Any leeds of where to go for this?
I have made posts about this pen before mainly for repair information. In the research I have done for the pen I have not found a definite date. I find dates of between 1908 and the late 1920s. I never got a reply from Waterman when I emailed them about it. Might anyone have definite documentation on this pen which can be seen in the link below? This is not my pen but a better picture of the pen in question. Mine is apart right now for sac replacement. http://www-personal.umich.edu/~him/Wat14K/Wat14k_3.jpg
I was unable to edit my other posting about this so I made this one. Basically I am in need of the clip shown in the image I have attached. This is the same exact cap as on my pen. I also need suggestions on where to go to have the cap returned to its original round shape as it was evidently slightly damaged somehow and is slightly out of round.
