  1. Hi, I have a Pilot 823 nib that had developed a scratchy angle. Turns out lending your favourite fountain pen to someone who's never used one before is a pretty dumb idea. On top of that, trying to smoothen an 823 nib when you have never done it before is dumber even. So here I am, with a M nib that writes like a B at some angles and still scratchy at lower angle of writing. I hope to get it fixed, so please recommend nib meisters or nib repair services in India, specifically Bangalore (but at this point I am desperate enough to post it to anywhere in the country). Thanks, and please do not make the mistakes I have made.
  2. Hi, I recently got a black Pilot 823 and I have been unable to unscrew the section. I tried my hardest, even using Goulet grips for added traction, and it won't budge. At this point I'm afraid I'm not strong enough or if I apply more force it may break the barrel. I have an amber 823 whose section unscrews with no problem. My guess is that the black 823 has some sort of thread locker put in. I created this thread on /r/fountainpens and at least one other person said that their black 823 has a section that won't come off. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks.

  4. I have read that the Pilot 823 Demonstrator FA had a limited production and the Tokyo Pen Shop Quill places the pen as unavailable without a specific date of new inventory. Community, do you any news on its availability today?
  5. The pilot 823 is on my to get list, but I have begun to wonder, is springiness, or bounce in a nib useful for long bouts of intensive writing or does it take away some of the efficiency? I'm guessing this also applies to monster nibs like the one on the pelikan 1000 and mb 149 etc. I write a lot and I'm wondering if this is going to be the right choice for me. I have a custom 74 which I use and love. What is your experience and advice?
