Serious journalers know the trouble of finding truly good journals at a good price. Cares such as blank pages, no showthrough, product availability, and reasonable hope of future availability over a decade or more really narrow the options and, in fact, may leave no good option. Attached is a cost-value study I conducted in 2013 based on the cost per square inch of paper surface. Taken into account were features (cf., above) as well as dimensions, page count, and price with shipping.
