    Pen Sac Od By Size?

Ok I'm very confused. I thought I understood how to measure pen sac sizes for a pen and the dimensions of the sac to use for the pen once it is measured. 1. To figure out what sac to use measure the Outside Diameter of the section nipple and convert to 64s of an inch. For example, a nipple that has a OD of 1/4" should take a # 16 sac. 2. I have read that the OD of the #16 sac should also be 1/4 inch. However, I just received 4 #16 sacs from a supplier and their ODs are noticeably smaller than 1/4 inches. More like 7/32. (i.e. 14/64). Did they send the wrong size, or is there supposed to be some stretch. I will add a picture from my phone in a reply. Thanks JAB

    Sheaffer Craftsman Pen Sac

Hello, Although I figured out that my Sheaffer Craftsman takes in the standard #15 pen sac from PenSac Company, I still have following questions, 1. Which is better - necked pen sac or the regular tubular pen sac? 2. Is it mandatory to apply sac cement or I can stretch opening of sac and rely on its elasticity and the barrel opening to keep it in place? 3. What causes a leaky Sheaffer? Is the correctness of installing pen sac directly proportional to ink leaking from feed area? Thanks for reading. analogy

    Eversharp Section Without Nipple

I've replaced the sac in many Wahl-Eversharps, but I've run across two now that baffle me. I must be missing something obvious. Both are small lever fillers with screw-in sections, I don't know the model -- maybe a Bantam? The think is: There is no nibble at the end of the section; it's open. So where does the sac attach? I thought maybe the first had lost a nipple the simply inserted in the opening. But I'm sure the second had all the original parts. The barrel takes only a very small - probably #12 -- sac that actually fits inside the threaded nipple neck, but how would it attach? I thought about posting this is the Wahl forum since it is so brand specific. The moderator can certainly move it if that's more appropriate. FPN rarely lets me down. Thanks for any help.
