  1. Hey All, I'm trying to decide on my next pen purchase, either the Pilot 74, the Pilot 92, or the Lamy 2000. I currently own a Pelikan M205 (technically a M215) and a Lamy Al-Star, I know there are reviews a-plenty for all of these pens, and published sizes/dimensions are everywhere. I can even tell you that the dimensions are all within a few millimeters of each other for these pens. However, none of that seems to help to really know how a pen FEELS in your hand! I'm partial to larger pens, I love the size of my Lamy Safari, and I think that my Pelikan M215 is a tad too small (still love it though!), and I'm worried about my next pen being too small too. So, for anyone who owns these pens, how to they compare to the Pelikan M215? I know the dimensions are pretty similar, but how do they FEEL? Are the Pilot's "small feeling" like the M215? Is the Lamy "large" compared to them? How's the length (unposted)? Thanks in advance!
  2. I just discovered PenChalet.com on the "What are you waiting for in the mail" thread, and decided to check it out. And I saw that they are indeed promising the Pelikan Tradition M205 at half price. Available are black, white, and taupe, stainless nib available in medium, broad, and italic. Obviously, I have never shopped with PenChalet, and also, I don't own this pen. I have the very similar M200 Tradition, and it is easily my favorite pen.

    Pen Chalet Saved The Day

A number of weeks ago I responded to a Pen Chalet sale ad appearing on the FPN website for a great price on a Pelikan M205. I couldn't pass on this, and placed an order. A few days later, the USPS tracking information indicated the pen was to arrive that morning, I hurried home from work during my lunch hour, and much to my dismay - no box, no pen. Long story short, I learned the box was stolen soon after the mailman placed it at my residence. While I will use more secure mailing procedures in the future, I was still upset about the loss. I contacted Pen Chalet and after explaining what happened, they decided to replace the pen at no additional cost to me. Really outstanding customer service! While there are other fact circumstances that enabled them to send another pen, I wanted to share my great experience to others on FPN. I have no connection to Pen Chalet other than being a pleased customer. And a friendly warning to others - no matter where you live, package delivery theft can happen. In addition to insuring your pen purchases also opt for signature only delivery or have the package sent to a secure location. Sometimes the lure of saving a few extra bucks by having a low cost delivery can result in risky behavior. FPN friends, please be careful out there!
  4. I just received a new Pelikan m205 which I filled with Pelikan Blue Black (I had read that this is a wet pen and this ink seemed like a good idea). Unfortunately the medium nib is rather narrow and the pen skips on some downstrokes. I'll try it with a wetter ink and see what happens. Also, since I am used to grip the pen rather low, the section threads irritate my finger. Regards
