    Pelikan 120 update

Hi lovely people, this is a little update about my newly purchased Pelikan 120 fountain pen. A few days ago, I have made this post about the fountain pen I purchased. The pen didn't came with packaging. Original owner didn't have one. Interestingly enough, the other day I bumped into an advert, about a guy who was selling this vintage pelikan 120 packaging, but without a papers inside. The best part is - nib of my fountain pen has " F " insignia, same as on the box that was for sale ! So I purchased it. Please take a look, and tell me if this could be the genuine packaging for Pelikan 120 vintage fountain pen? Thank you in advance ! Sinsirely yours - Tinpanalleybluesman.
  2. There have been changes to the packaging of Diamine's 30ml bottles and cartridges as well, as some of you might already know. My photos from my phone don't do them justice, but then although I'm a professional photographer - albeit retired! - I never did 'macro' stuff at all. So you'll just have to take my word for it. The theme continues with the boxes for the 80ml bottles, with a coloured and labelled 'swatch' of the relevant ink: on the label for the 30ml bottle and on the boxes of the 18 and six cartridges. They look a whole lot better I must. Judge for yourselves but don't let my pictures put you off...! I think that Diamine have made a big step forward with their whole new product concept and long may it continue!
  3. I just received a new Sailor Promenade and it came in a different box than all my other Sailors (incl Promenades). I think they might have changed the boxes for good, and they basically raised the price on their pens this way too, because the box isn't faux leather anymore, but it's a blue cardboard box. Also the cardboard white sleeve doesn't have the cut-out anymore. The "Sailor" logo is small now, in the right lower corner. Anyone else got the new box? Maybe for another model than the Promenade? PS One correction: the "Sailor" inscription & logo aren't in the lower right hand corner, but in the middle of the right side. This post is basically just an observation and to see whether anyone else got the new box.

    Robert Oster Ink Package

So I ordered a bottle of ink from Robert Oster, and this is what I received: The bottle of Barossa Grape I'd ordered A same-sized bottle of Claret Sample bottles of Burgundy, Sea Blue, Peach and something else that I can't recall A Jinhao pen A note, sealed with wax, expressing thanks for my purchase All wrapped nicely in gold foil. A beautiful package, which cost a packet to ship. If you want to have Christmas, order from this guy.

    Missing Packaging

Hi Guys New to the site. I am an avid collector of Mont Blanc limited edition pens for many years and have just discovered this forum. Wondered if anyone can help or advise me. I have a Schiller fountain pen which has the original case (mock book) but no outer box and white cardboard sleeve. Is there anywhere or anyone who knows where I could get hold of these items. Here's hoping Thanks Marc
  6. Hi everyone, I'm new hereabouts and if these have been beaten to the death in the past here, apologies in advance for bringing them up again 1. I find elaborate packaging for pens almost wasteful. My 149, FC Model 29 and Bexley Owners Club have come in boxes that I've not seen again after getting out the pen (and in case of the 149 the ink bottle as well). Is it just me who wishes that the manufacturers stick to the minimalistic and pass us customers a price reduction instead? In the long run, it might for an FP aficionado mean a pen more rather than have a bunch of fancy-looking if thoroughly useless boxes sitting around. And unlike jewelry, most people store their FPs not in their original boxes but in pen cases/pouches/boses anyway. 2. I have two celluloid pens, the Jinhao Century and Wancher Celluloid Classical Edition. Both have an unpleasant odor, definitely NOT camphor (which to me smells pleasant enough) that I've heard of in the past. More worryingly, I've not failed to notice that on the days I use these pens, I sense a mild irritation of my cornea and nostrils. Do the pens emit some mild fumes, I wonder? Does anyone have a solution for ridding the odor with a permanence? And would doing so make the irritation go away? I'd greatly appreciate your time if you chose to comment and help me, thanks
