  1. It's been less than a year since I started using a fountain pen in my daily life and I'm always carrying a ballpoint for cheap paper situations. But I use single - use ballpoints like BIC and pilot supergrip G, which result in hand fatigue (I'm pretty susceptible to it and that's why I started using FP). Any suggestions for comfortable ballpoints? Being refillable will be a nice characterisitic.
  2. Hello, I'm a newcomer to the fountain pen world and I'm planning on buying a Pilot Metropolitan. To european buyers: does the pen come with a bladder or piston converter included or do I have to buy them seperatly?

  4. Hey! So glad to be here! I was forcefully dragged into the world of fountain pens when I fell in love with a cheap Jinhao I got as a random gift. My father happened to have a few nicer fountain pens to lend me, and before I knew it, I couldn't write with a ballpoint anymore. The most annoying thing about it is that I really like inks, but I have no way to try any samples. That means a lot of researching before I buy any. Fortunately, I've been fairly happy with all my purchases so far, and that's in part thanks to this site. It's been my first stop when I'm searching for reviews and comparisons. So I've been looking around here for a while. Then I recently learned that, for this year's birthday, I'll get to import some inks I wouldn't usually be able to buy. I'm very excited, but having a hard time picking the colors. The brand I want is a little less well known, and it's been hard to find enough reviews. I thought I should make a post asking for help on Inky Thoughts... which was when I realized I didn't actually have an account here yet. I decided to correct that.

    Newbie

Hello all, so that's it, I'm going in ! I came back to foutain pen some time ago first with notebooks, because it's such a better feeling than anything else. So I dig out my old school pen, and continue researchs. After going for cheap pens, I chose a TWSBI Vac mini, it's like a Christmas present! I feel like growing up on that topic Looking forward to learn a lot agathe
  6. Good Evening, I have recently become enthralled with the world of fountain pens and fine writing instruments, what a fantastic hobby! As a newbie, who is not well-versed or knowledgeable about fountain pens I was hoping to get a few suggestions about pen selection. I recently purchased a Cross Classic Century fountain, I am enjoying it very much, after getting some experience with my pen I find myself wanting more. Specifically, I am wanting to experiment around with different nib shapes, I find that my Cross' round point nib is nice for everyday writing, but I would like to find a pen with a nib that will allow me to do very thin and very wide strokes, like what you would see in calligraphy. I would like to use the pen in everyday usage, so a big fancy calligraphy pen is not desirable (for now), from looking around it seems that I want an italic or oblique nib that is on the flexible side - the kind of nib that would produce very nice copperplate. I'm not sure if all of that makes any sense, my goal is to find a pen that will allow me to develop a more elegant writing style. If anybody has any suggestions for a relatively inexpensive pen, and perhaps any words of wisdom, I would be greatly appreciative. Merci d'avance!
