  1. Hi guys do you have a weekly/monthly zoom/teams meet up? My boyfriend and cat are tired of me talking about pens. Nobody at work is interested. Want to chat fountain pens, inks and paper... writing projects, pen jobs, etc...

  9. Location: Murray's Home Date: Monday Sept 11th, 2017 (second Monday of the month... ) Time: 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm Topic: Have a pen you never use and are sad it's gathering dust? Yearning for a new pen but don't want to pay full price? Need some money in your pocket? Have a pen that isn't quite right but don't know what to do with it? Bring it along with you this month to swap or sell! That's right - this month our main focus will be pen swaps and/or sales! Secondary topic: Our secondary topic is always New pens, paper, ink, wax seals, ephemera, etc... so if you have any new pens or writing related items that you've recently acquired please bring them along! RSVP your attendance or non-attendance please. If there is anything you would like to take a look at because you're considering a purchase (pens, ink, etc.) please feel free to ask if anyone in the group is able to bring it to the meeting.   11. Hey everyone! So, I was wondering if there is anyone in Indiana that might want to meet up for a pen club or something like that? I'm in Bloomington, southern Indiana, close to Indianapolis.   12. The next meeting of the Pittsburgh Pen club will be April 20 (the week after Easter) at Fourth Presbyterian Church - 5450 Friendship Ave. in Pittsburgh. A big thank you to Eric Amundson for arranging this venue. There is parking in front of the Montessori school on Friendship on the opposite side of the street from the church.   14. The Philadelphia Pen Collectors Group will meet on Saturday May 6 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Michael’s Restaurant & Jewish Delicatessen in King of Prussia. As always, our secondary topic is new acquisitions of pens and writing instruments, paper, ephemera, wax seals, etc. See you all on Monday! (Drop me a line if you need location information.)
  18. We meet on the second Monday of each month, unless that date falls on a holiday. Farragut could see the ships pulling back from his high perch, where he was lashed to the rigging of his flagship, USS Hartford. "What's the trouble?", he shouted through a trumpet to USS Brooklyn. "Torpedoes", was the shouted reply. "Damn the torpedoes.", said Farragut, "Four bells, Captain Drayton, go ahead. Jouett, full speed." Our upcoming pen club meeting will be at Murrays house, on Monday November the 14th starting at 7pm. This months topic: Torpedo shaped pens, or... the Sheaffer Balance and the pens that look like them. Bring in your originals, or the pens they inspired to show and share. As always, our secondary topic will be new acquisitions of pens, paper, pencils, ephemera, wax seals, stories, &tc. If there is anything you would like to get a closer look at, feel free to give a shout to the group - chances are good someone has what you're interested in. Please RSVP so we can ensure seating....   23. I know it's a late announcement, but the Pittsburgh pen club will meet this Wednesday, June 15, at 7:00 PM at the Panera in Bakery Square. Bring ideas for a July location, and we'll see what we can decide. Also think about timing and location for a weekend meeting that we can hold a little further east (Monroeville? We will be meeting in the back room at the Panera in Oakland at 3401 Boulevard of the Allies, Pittsburgh 15213 We will also be discussing future meeting locations and possible weekend meetings for later this summer again - several people have promised to report on other venues! We also hope to be taking some pictures for a website and to create a more regular schedule. See you there! Joshua Sasmor
