Hi again. I just acquired a threesome of Cross instruments, that were listed a "Windsor" Medalists. However, FP was made in Ireland, so I could not pass up, being 25% of me from the Old Sod, y'know. The price was right. 2 questions: 1. I believe the FP to be a Century II medalist. It is engraved 2169 A1167 near the threads. Is there a resource for date codes? Please advise, would like to know when made. Also, am I on right track with ID? I've also had my own Matte Black Irish Century II for years. 2. Was the threesome shown ever actually sold as a set? I have no box, no papers, and no idea if they are "related" except by appearance. Thanks!

I have some questions about a modern Cross pen. This is the Cross Classic Century Medalist Fountain Pen in chrome with 24Kt plated nib and furniture. This pen is in current production as of post date. Does anyone have access to one of these pens? These two pictures were scraped from the Cross Web site. note the position of the clip relative to the nib in each picture. I found this picture (below) on Amazon, it is the only picture of this pen capped that I can find anywhere on the Web. So the end of the barrel is threaded to accept the cap threads. But... 1. How does Cross make sure the clip is aligned with the nib when the pen is posted? 2. If the barrel threads are designed to align the clip and nib when posted, why did Cross put two pictures of this pen on their site with the clip in different positions relative to the nib? 3. If the clip and nib are aligned when posted, is there the possibility the threads allow the clip to become misaligned with wear over time? If yes, is there away to adjust the position of the barrel threads and/or section to correct the problem? I like the look of this model and have no problem with thin pens. It is rather affordable as well at $60-$70 USD street price including CONUS shipping. But I'd like to know more about how this pen posts before purchasing. Thanks, David
