This is a prototype at the moment for a pen that will be made in very small quantities. 10 (ten) The pen is all hand made, it was born out of an experiment, making a pen with an overlay and ink window, personally I like the syringe type, but in this case, an overlay made more clear the need for a longer body and a small blind cap and a big ink reservoir, therefore I thought why not to make a vacumatic type of pen, but, we do not have diaphragms, and they complicate the construction of the pen, the solution was to replace what in a parker would be a latex diaphragm by the same type of pistons we use in slim pens like the vulcain and calame. One member of the forum asked me why not to make a vacumatic, but the diaphragm is something I dont like, since latex dries out quickly, it decomposes quickly and gets eaten by some inks,.......to make it short, you move a piston instead. The breath tube is made of inox built in the carbon fiber feed which is 6mm (nobody makes those, except us) and comes from another pen that's been in the catalog that uses them, therefore the whole unit can be easily taken away for cleaning. The whole pen can be dismantled by taken away the two screws, that removes the piston unit and the overlay everything at once. So you can clean it.

We are happy to announce that we won a competition to be part of the Paris design week, we will be there with our own space, if you don't know, this is one of the most important design events worldwide. As a designer this is quite a very important thing, plus, seems the pens are getting some attention.. To celebrate I've made a second prototype of the "vacumatic" type, (that uses a piston and a spring instead of the rubber diaphragm) this one won't be a limited run, probably will stay for a while, the other pen is on hold, as this one is getting my attention now for some reasons. Figures are similar, except the weight, but, the one here has been my everyday pen, it turned out to be quite a workhorse, it has no "blind cap" as the button is locked by a mechanism inside, the construction is carbon fiber instead of steel, and the ink windows are larger. he prototype in the pictures has a titanium nib, most likely the pen will have options for 14k or 18k N6 custom nibs, but eventually I shall take a look on working out a titanium nib, as to me has more to do with the spirit of the pen, It's also made with a carbon fiber ink feed with stainless steel micro tube, that was specially designed and developed for this pen, also the nib case is made of carbon fiber. There's little metal actually, the pen is very light and its the most complicated design I've done so far so far...The final version will have some changes though, the cap will post (this one cannot), and I'll add an option for a clip, in carbon, so that's under development now. The system is really fun to use, I would say that's more of a toy than anything else, but from the other design, I like the fact that there's no blind cap. Not available yet. Hello pen friends, this time a very original pen, Originally designed to be used on the airplane and fitted into an specific type of notebook, as I was flying up to 3 times a month from Paris to Berlin and sometimes other places to teach some design and architectural design somewhere in Germany, I did this pen for my personal use, after a while, some of my students got the like of the pen as seeing me using it, and I did a few for them. I had lots of questions about it on the email. so I did a video on Youtube. I don't like doing videos but I feel these designs need to have some explanations, more information for you to see them better. Note that this is not a pen for the plane, its the pen I did for me for the plane, so comments of the like of "this pen would not be suited for a plane trip because the clip and this and this and that" do not apply, it was a bespoke pen I did for my use, as I do my own stuff. I was not expecting anybody else to like the pen, due to fact that is a "strange pen" I wanted to make a pen with a cap so big that I wouldn't loose it and add grip for the pen is needed I dont know of any cap designed for that.... , a piston, as I dont like cartridges, it had to post and no clip whatsoever as I don't like clips. I never use them, the image of a pocket with a clip was never my thing. But, seems people like the pen so I give more information on it. As the piston was another thing I wanted the one on the pen to be way over a poor 1.0ml, so this one has almost 2ml in a very streamlined body, as I like very thin pens. This has to do with the fact that Im more of a pencil guy when drawing, but I use fountain pens exclusively when on the ink business. I have thicker designs, like the "Magna" but I prefer constant thin cylindrical pens. anyway, I'll made a video on "hefty pens" as I have pilled quite a number of designs now in a kingdom that was mostly streamlined high ink capacity, when not cc pens. Although one may think that a traveling pen should be a cc pen,the fact is that converters have really little ink, I dont like to use cartridges as I feel a bit bad about just adding more plastic to the trash for a few drops of ink, and I think that most piston fillers out there are struggling to be 1.0 to 1.2ml of ink (this has to do to the fact that some makers do not want to make telescopic pistons anymore, even when some of them are charging around 1000 for a mass produced pen, and their designs were, well, made originally for the very nice telescopic pistons, that as far as I know, nobody is making them) I don't make them either, but I managed to put the almost 2.0ml on the small pen to just have enough ink to do my job and get back home. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01zwRbKHUp8 https://www.venvstas.com/avant-garde thanks!

This one was announced long ago, and finally we decided to put it out. Its an interesting pen with a nice blend of materials, the cartridge version may not be ever out, but at least this one (the piston version) is. Its a rather big pen, still streamlined with a body in a mixture of carbon fiber and steel 10 to 11mm thick and 2.0ml of ink capacity. No clip, cap do not post. Its a desk pen. Although its a pen I personally use a lot and its my everyday carry pen, because its just a tank, very tough, loads lots of ink, and as being a pen designer makes you be with lots of pens, so at the end you are not attached to any..but this one I am..pimp of pens call me, sounds horrible or like a name for a new subrand of sailor pens "sailor pimp of pens" so lets just let it be the Saturne. Here is the pen with more detail, the pen is already online on the site, it has to be said that for this pen there's no steel nib version, its either 6mm 14k or 18k rhodium plated or natural gold as standard. It has a piston mechanism, 2.2ml ink capacity; the pen is 10-12mm thick, carbon fiber nib casing, carbon fiber piston and mechanism, gold plated parts and black glossy lacquered fiber body.
