  1. I work in a doctor's office, and someone left their Lamy 2000 ballpoint. My coworkers are not pen people, but as soon as I saw it, I knew what it was and grabbed it in case the rightful owner were to return. I know it's not as expensive as the fountain pen, but I'm sure someone is missing it, as it is a nice ballpoint. If you can name the doctor's office, DM me and we can arrange a way to return it. If you know who lost it, please put them in contact with me.

    Lost Lamy 69 O-Ring

One of my mums fountain pens, said Lamy 69, was terribly crusted up and totally dried when I took a look at it on my last visit...it had probably not been cleaned for years...so I decided to take it with me and clean it for her... Picture of how it looked before cleaning, see below... While I was turning the piston mechanism to clean out the ink chamber I accidentally unscrewed the grip section...so far so good... I held my hand in a way to catch anything that might come loose but before I even noticed that it was there the O-ring from inside the grip section came loose, bounced off my hand and went down the drain never to be seen again 😱😭😩 The result: the point between grip section and barrel isn't sealed anymore and leaks...and that on a pen that isn't mine, don't even ask how horrible I'm feeling... Now my question: does anyone know where I could get an original O-ring? Would an O-ring from a Lamy 2000 (I read that the 69 is the predecessor of the 2000) work? If yes, how can I get a replacement? My last solution will be to drive to the next hardware store and see which O-rings fits, how high are my chances to find something that fits... I'm feeling so bad for having potentially ruined one of my mum's pens, just because I wasn't careful enough...I wanted to surprise her with a nicely cleaned pen next time I see her Any help and/or advise would be greatly appreciated!! 😭 A A
  3. Hi all! I opened this account in 2013, but I've never used it. I figure it's time to fix that. Anyways, I'm a lawyer in the New York area, have been using fountain pens since high school, and post every now and again on the /r/fountainpens subreddit. My current favorite pen is a Sailor Starburst Galaxy with a music nib. I also still hold out hope that my previous favorite -- a Visconti Homo Sapiens, 25th Anniversary Edition -- will be returned to me some day. It disappeared from my bag while I was on public transit one morning. Maybe it was stolen? Maybe it fell out of my bag? I haven't decided. Both seem unlikely. In any event, part of my reason for posting now is a long-shot hope that one of you found it and have been holding it faithfully for just such an occassion. Fingers crossed, and here's a link to an announcement I made about it on Reddit. To make matters worse, it was in a black leather case when it was lost.... with a brand new Pelikan Cafe Creme. Heavy sigh. Either way, glad to join the group! I have been reading your ink reviews and pen repair tips for years, and hope to contribute my own as I learn. I just started teaching myself to restore Vacumatics, so I hope there will be some success stories to post soon!
  4. When I was in Grand Marais, Minnesota in May of this year, I lost my red Namiki Pilot Vanishing Point 2009 Limited Edition, number 1773 out of 2009. I suspect it fell out of my coat pocket in the old downtown area, between Sven & Ole's, the bookstore, and the pizza shop. My fear is that someone picked it up, couldn't figure out how to write properly with it, and tossed it. I did post on Craig's List and have had no response. On the off chance that someone finds it and shares the information with someone here, I thought I'd post. For those who don't know, it is a red and silver pen (here's a picture of this type: http://carmenriverapens.com/Vanishing_Point_images/VP09Aug_Exp.jpg), and I put in a converter. Other distinguishing marks include a small fissure near the opening where the nib emerges, and the pocket clip may be developing another. The converter may not operate smoothly. It was last loaded with Noodler's Dragon's Napalm. Please let me know if you encounter this pen.
  5. Hello everyone, Today is a very sad day. I take public transportation to get to college and normally everything is fine. Well today when I took the bus I did not fully zip my purse after paying my fare. This would normally have not been a problem. It came back to bite me after I went to disembark a packed bus with several people trying to squeeze by me. One of these pushy people knocked my purse and all its contents to the floor including my precious Lamy Safari. I stuffed my things back into my purse. I believed I had my Lamy back in my purse until i went to grab my wallet to pay for coffee and sign my receipt. That led me to frantically searching my purse and bookbag to no avail. I called the bus station and asked them to have the driver check the bus where i sat and if found to give it to the attendant at the ticket booth. I hope they find it because I am super devastated!
