  1. I recently had the good fortune of running into a second Pelikan D.R.G.M. stamped leather pouch for two pens, most likely from 1930s-1940s. As I call it I got it for a song (15€ with shipping and with a no name fountain pen included) so it is currently on its way to me from Germany. The pouch itself is made of four pieces, black leather on the top and bottom with a liner of red leather running in between, and a zipper with red textile backing running on top. The back piece is stamped in the center with Pelikan D.R.G.M. It fits a 100, 100N and even a 400 with a matching mechanical pencil such as Pelikan Auch, 200, 250 etc. Or two fountain pens even. Just out of curiosity, does anyone have more info on those? I could not find anything in the price lists or brochures but I've seen a few shown here... The construction is solid with the leather and zipper being of good quality but nothing that fancy if you may, more like an item for the working person, or someone in school. For example, there is no liner so the insides are just bare, inner leather and the backside of the zipper has nothing to buffer the pens from it. Hence, I really do not think that I would ever use those for my pens because the insides are quite frankly somewhat abrasive, I can see scuffs and plating loss forming with repeated use, especially from the exposed zipper. Also, the pouch itself is soft so it doesn't really offer the pens any protection. Anyhow, it is a nice bit of Pelikan ephemera and a collectible for sure. If it only came with a liner...
  2. Dear all, After some years travelling with the Midori journal, I found the size (finding paper while on the roas was incredibly frustrating) and lack of carrying the pen/cards was a pain, so I decided to design and make my own journals based on all my experience travelling off the beaten path. And so, this is the outcome: Some of the basic features: · Inner notebook slot allows for quick and simple A-5 journal/agenda replacement. It can hold any A-5 journal or agenda from any brand. Available under request, it can hold both a journal and an agenda together.· A second inner large slot allows for keeping passport, notes and documents organised and secured.· Two pockets that allows up to 4 cards, travel cards or driving licence/ID.· Outer layer from genuine full-grain, vegetable tanned bovine leather from Toscana. Durable yet supple it shows all the animal's character and will age forming a beautiful patina. The leather is chosen to last for generations.· Inner lining from high quality denim fabric, stretched and stitched by hand. Denim fabric can be replaced by suede of any color, to be matched with the stitching thread.· Inner pockets and slots from full grain, vegetable-tanned french chevre. Delicate and wear resistant, with a gorgeous grain, it develops a beautiful patina as it ages.· Elastic flat band that can hold a full-sized fountain pen.· 100% stitched by hand using saddle stitching for durable and elegant seams. Stitching color can be tailored and the thread is waxed by hand. · Edges painted, waxed and polished by hand, creased by hand to enhance the stitching. Cheers
  3. I've personally been on a three month long hunt to find that "Perfect Case" in which to carry my five favourite pens, the one's I use in rotation on a daily basis. I've purchased many cases over the years and for one reason or another, they've all failed to hit the spot for one reason or another. That was until this week, when I received my Kimono Pen Wrap, for some reason this one case seems right for me at the moment in time. Now I have to confess to a secret - I have a slight touch of OCD when it comes to cases - I know that at some-point in the near future I'll want another & the search will resume. Now I'm sure I'm at alone on this? Here's my collection of cases used daily, what are you using & why? Far left: Maxpedition EDC Pocket Organiser Mini - It's the total Armageddon day solution. Right top: Campo Marzio PU leather three pen case that cost £2.99 Right Middle: Kimono Fountain Wrap from Inthreadible on Etsy (my current personal Favourite. Right Bottom: Atelier De La Foret Pocket Pen Case, regret buying as the two pen case is better value.
