  1. I quite like the Jinhao x450 but don't like the stock medium nibs (just too big for my writing style). I've tried the Zebra G frankenpen idea but I could never re-shape the curvature of the nib to get it to work well and the nib and feed wound up jamming in the grip section. I broke them when I tried to get them out. I'd rather not try that again. I've also tried Noodler's brand nibs with no luck. All of my Jinhao F nibs are #5s. Does anybody know of any nibs that work easily and reliably? F or stub/italic are preferred, but EF, Flex, and Japanese M are good, too. Thanks!

    First Nib Replacement!

So, I finally attempted a nib replacement- a Zebra G nib in a Jinhao x450. I think it worked pretty darn well!
  3. Hello~ My pen box is overflowing so I am cleaning house. This PIF is for a pair of Jinhao fountain pens (traveling together): * Jinhao 163, glossy black/silver trim, with a custom-ground, rather sharp cursive italic nib, originally 0.7mm but now on the narrow side * Jinhao X450, matte black/gold trim, with a smooth 0.7 mm nib, on the broad side Both have snap-on caps and converters. I will also include a bag of additional converters. This PIF will include free shipping to anywhere in the U.S. My apologies for limiting this offer to the U.S. during this time of difficult mail delivery. I will keep this open for one week after it becomes posted. If you would like to put your name in the "hat," just reply to this posting. I will announce the winner here after the drawing. My best summer regards to everyone!
  4. Hello, I have a Jinhao x450 that I modified to use a zebra g nib. I reshaped the feed so the nib would sit properly and deepened the ink channel and I would say I did both of these things precisely and well. However, that little prong-like bit at the rear end of the feed that's maybe a millimeter or two protrusion from the center, snapped off clean one time while removing the nib. The pen still seems to work fine so far and I'm wondering how critical of a component it is after all. Any ideas? Thank you.
  5. This is the closest I have come to in finding a replacement for Sheaffer's King's Gold, with clout! 'Phil's the man, the man with the Midas touch....he loves only gold!' - name the song folks!
  6. Hello again, Here are the other four inks from the Diamine Shimmer Set that I didn't receive last Tuesday thanks to our beloved postal system. However, here they are, and as always, I look forward to your comments and thoughts.
