    Tuned Sailor Pens

Any good recommendations of pen shops that ship internationally and are sailor pen dealers, which also have an option to modify the nib/feed to your personal preference ? share your experience !
  2. Hello, Could anyone tell me the difference between the Parker Duofold Prestige/Classic and International/Centennial lines. From what I can guess, The Prestige is made from brass whereas the classic is made of resin (plastic), and both come in international (short) and Centennial (long) versions. Can somebody help me clarify that?
  3. As it does from time to time, Rakuten Global Market is running another free international shipping promotion campaign, effective now until 22 March 2019 09:59 (Japan Standard Time). Australia and NZ are sadly not included (as usual), but UK, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Canada, USA and Russia are in scope. Minimum spend on a single order to qualify is ¥12,000 from a single shop that is on a somewhat limited list of participating shops; retailers of fountain pens and inks of interest are even fewer. I know AT-N Nagasaka and Nagasawa S
  4. Hey everyone ! I create this topic to be able to find any informations or to reunite fountain pens fans in France. For now I really didn't see anyone very active so if you have any info or ideas to create a special events (for example the Pelikan hub etc...) feel free to share.
  5. For a long time I've thought that pen shows are an American thing. But now I found this excellent site http://www.freewebs.com/euroshows/ which tells me that there are some pen shows in Europe as well. There doesn't seem to be as much exposure of these on FPN as of the American ones, though. What are these European shows like? I figure the ones closest to my location would be in Poland and Germany, but I don't speak Polish at all, and speak only a little German (despite the fact that I have an excam certificate which claims otherwise). So I'm wondering, how international are these shows? Ar
  6. Hi everyone! I usually carry something like 5 spare cartridges in their orginal packaging in my backpack wherever I go. Problem is, after a while of being in there, the cardboard packaging more or less gets destroyed. Does anyone know of a company that makes a hard carry case for international long (or short for that matter) cartridges? Has somebody thought of a clever solution to this? I can't believe I would be the only one with this problem! Thank you all very much in advance! - 3nding

    A Special Special Edition Duofold?

Hi all. I've bought a mint Parker Duofold International at a low price on eBay early this year, and was told that the pen was either a special edition or mistake. The pen comes with a "Greenwich" emblem on the cap, which can be found on the Duofold Centennial Greenwich special edition that was released in 1999. There are several things that intrigue me quite a lot. First, I couldn't find any info confirming that Parker released the Greenwich edition in international models, in which this is consistent with what the seller said. Second, the Greenwich Centennial's got a black chase pattern,
  8. I am from Bangalore and am a FP enthusiast and have managed to put up a tiny collection of FPs. I am interested in beefing up my collection little by little with some Pilots, Sailor, Platinum, Pelikan, Visconti, Omas, Edison etc. I have bought most of my collection during my travel abroad from ebay, gouletpens, iguana_sell etc. Wanted to know the experiences of other's who have tried shipping their products to India from online retailers especially with respect to the "Customs Duty" they have had to pay for the fountain pen. Is there an extra duty for pens with gold/palladium nibs etc? A

    Engraving In Chinese Characters

Hi! Some engraving concerns here: My wife gave me a MB classique Platinum fountain pen as her wedding gift to me. She bought it at a MontBlanc Boutique here in Manila. And I'm planning to have it engraved with my Chinese name on it, sadly the MB here in the Philippines can't engrave in CHinese characters. We'll be heading to Taiwan for a few days at the end of Jan. and I was wondering if I could also avail the free engraving of my MontBlanc Pen in Taiwan with my name in Chinese Characters even though it was purchased in the Philippines? And oh, do they really engrave it for free? Thanks and
  10. OK, so apparantly February is Interantional Correspondance month - much like write a novel in a month - this is write a letter/postcard to someone for every day in Feb. An ideal thing for folk looking for excuse to use their fountain pens. Here's a link to what the fuss is all about. http://incowrimo.org/2017/01/sbre-brown-endorses-incowrimo/

  13. I came in contact with a collector. We were sharing pics of our collections and he mentioned that he had 2 doufolds that he wanted to sell, but they had been left with some ink for a long time. so there feeds might be clogged. he offered them both for around 165$/101 pounds/127 euros shipped. Based on the information I got on the fountain pen network, I was aware that cleaning the feeds won't be a big deal. so I said yes. The pens didn't have boxes so he couriered them in a plastic pilot pen case.he even included 2 convertors one premium and the other cheaper slide one for them. finally t
  14. Does anybody know where I would be able to get Black n Red casebound, A4 sized, narrow-ruled notebooks in the USA? I can't find them anywhere! The wide ruled version is available everywhere, but the narrow-ruled one is nowhere to be found. Also, if you live in the UK and have access to these notebooks, I would be willing to pay or trade for you to ship me one if there are no US sellers. I could technically order off of UK websites that sell them, but the shipping they charge triples the cost for me.
  15. Hi everyone! This summer as I was decluttering my grandparents' home I found an old pen - looks like it might be a frankenpen. It makes a perfect repair guinea pig for me, because the barrel is pretty enough to act as incentive, yet the pen has no sentimental value (and apparently no monetary value either) so if I mess up there's no tears or gnashing of teeth The only sticking point now is getting the supplies. I would much prefer an inclusive kit rather than collecting everything over time, because every time I've approached a new activity that way, I have invariably ended up overspending
  16. Can someone identify my Duofold? I was given it as a gift in 1998. The size is 13.1 cm which corresponds to the international version. I can't seem to find on the web any Parker Duofolds with single-tone arrow nib like mine... Does anyone have a Duofold with a single-tone nib like this one???
