    Noodler's Blue Ghost

*Originally posted on my Instagram. Ink Review: Noodler's Ink, Blue Ghost. Grade: 68.75%. Blue Ghost(BG) is probably the most interesting ink that I own. It was given to me as a gift because, as a practical person, I couldn't find a reason to buy this ink unless I was playing 'Cold War spy' with my friends. I wish I had gotten it sooner. Yes, it's sort of a novelty, but what a novelty! In the bottle, the ink is a pale yellow that reminds me of raw egg yolk. After it dries, it's completely invisible. The only way I can see it on the page is if I scratch the paper by pressing down too hard while writing. It's a smooth writing ink but I wouldn't describe it as an overly wet ink with a drying time between 5-7 seconds on composition paper. This ink is a bulletproof ink and is very hard to clean or get off your hands. The first time I used it was in a dip pen and I successfully stained my thumb and middle finger for 3 days. Thankfully no one could see it. BG doesn't shade. BG doesn't bleed. And it doesn't like to show up on cheap composition paper. I'd recommend a nice cream colored paper if you're using BG. The picture I took is on a little Moleskine grid notebook. And lastly, BG doesn't like to have its picture taken. I only have an iPhone 5 and I couldn't get it to say "cheese". The best picture i got was from taking a video on my phone then snapping a screenshot. Granted, I have a cheap LED black light flashlight; your results may vary. I haven't figured out what I'm going to do with BG yet. I know I can write a secret message to someone (which I look forward to). I've also heard (from Brian Goulet's videos) that there are stories of wives writing their husbands in the military in BG so all the private romantic musings *stay* private. And I've heard you can add BG to other inks and they can take on its luminescent properties. I haven't tried that yet, but I really really want to. If you want to try an ink that is fascinating and fun to play/experiment with, you should check this ink out.
  2. #thetimeflowsquietlythelifemakesapoem Hello everyone! Just joined FPN a couple of days ago! Thought I might write about something and commune with the pen community! Few months ago, I started a personal hashtag (#thelifemakesapoem) in Instagram INSPIRED BY A NOTEBOOK COVER "Time Flows Quietly,The Life Makes a Poem". Bought in Mr.DIY, a convenient store in Malaysia Its a project where I adapted some of my friends or well established authors or key person in history; quotes, poetry, poems, prose and sometimes videogames' character creed; and write them into my notebook. Credits to the author of course! The reason I do this is because; First. To hone my craft and skill with a fountain pen. Second. It promotes bilingual culture through the beauty of language. Third. To share common interests and hobbies with old and new friends. Last but not least, fourth. To take part in the dazzling action of writing community of the world especially those who are zealous for fountain pens! I am a newbie here and I saw the creative expressions forum and saw lots of amazing threads. Although, to be honest I haven't read a lot about them since I've limited time in my schedules. I hope to share something with you fine folks here in FPN and hopefully to share lots of creative ideas and reasons to write! Don't forget to check my ig @justhaikal Stay creative and Write on!
  3. Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I saw this article in The New Yorker today and wanted to share: http://www.newyorker.com/culture/cultural-comment/calligraphy-stars-instagram?intcid=mod-most-popular An excerpt: Getting rid of cursive seems to imply that one day no one will need to set pen to paper. Instagram calligraphy is a great visual argument for why “need” should not be the only factor in saving script. Watch long enough, and you, too, will start Googling “Lamy fountain pens” and “copper ink.” Articles like this make me happy.

    Being Pelikan Project - Instagram

Hi everyone, As the 2nd round of the #beingPelikan project started today on pelikan_international's instagram, I was thinking if the person who's been chosen for the certain week could also post the photos here as well if possible. I don't know how many of the 12 chosen people are using the forum though, but I'd be happy if we'd take a try. What do you think? My week is the 3rd (18. Aug - 24. Aug)
