  1. I recently bought a TWSBI mini Diamond. I also got a bottle of Monboddo's Hat. Right off the bat I noticed that after I filled it with the ink straight from the bottle using the piston, the pen didn't write immediately. Ok, then it started writing after doing some strokes. I noticed however that sometimes it hard started. Then I noticed that when I drew quicker longer lines it just didn't write at all. Then I noticed that it seemed to prefer reverse writing. I thought the tines were too much apart so I squeezed them together but there is still the same problem. I also flushed the feed and nib section with soapy water, nothing. I drew ink and flushed it multiple times, then drew water and flushed it multiple times. I don't know what is wrong, and I am asking for your help, being more experienced. I am disappointed, because I initially tried to avoid TWSBIs because of some bad things I have heard about them, and some other people convinced me that TWSBIs have improved and never had issues. This is my most expensive pen as of now, I got it as a little gift for myself after my Master's Thesis defense, and now I am thinking I wasted my money. Can you tell me how to fix this issue, why can't it keep up with quicker, longer lines, and why does it randomly stop writing? Thank you.

    "Feed Flow Rate" Issue

Hi, I have a Kaweco eyedropper Classic Sport and Faber Castell pens. Today's question is about troubleshooting the Kaweco's feed ink replenishment speed. The pen writes good after a whole section cleaning. It writes even better when it is cleaned without disassembling the section, but using the miniconverter to flush with 1:100 diluted dish detergent + bicarbonate cleaning fluid until clear of ink. I don't want to mix dish detergent into the ink that I'm using. I find that to be error prone in case I mess up the dilution ratio and the pen starts burping constantly. However, as it is, after the feed is still wet with the minute remaining dish detergent in the section, the pen has enough flow for a glassy smooth & ample flowing session. The writing experience is very enjoyable. Still, as the supply gets replaced with new ink which is Parker Quink Black - very reliable ink - it does not fill the feed as fast as I write with it. When starting, the feed's gaps are full of ink to the point that if I don't immediately start to write, it will drip onto the paper. It keeps up this wetness for a while without any burping; however loses pace as the diluted dawn detergent + bicarbonate residues wash off. I would like to avoid much testing while still keeping ink flow at that speed which the pen can race with me. PS: I hatched a makeshift solution. I kept the mild detergent solution from the cleaning procedure. I will add more solvent each time I refill the pen. The first time I added it, I used 0.02ml of this mixture. It ghosted and shaded until it gave up once again... I can sense when it will occur from the pen starting to grab the paper, though.
  3. Hello everyone, I absolutely love the Shigure colour from sailor seasons ink, perfect blend of purple, blue, and black for everyday writing. Unfortunately, for some odd reason (and very un-sailor like) the ink misbehaves allot! Firstly, the ink does not have have good flow at all, and often causes skipping when writing long sessions. (tried it on 4 different pens: 3 wet and juicy flow, 1 drier flow pen) Second, the ink seems to dry up really quick when at the nib+feed. It has difficulty starting in many of my pens if left uncapped, even for a very short period of time. Anyone else experiencing this? Or is this just the bottle of ink I received? I really love this colour but due to its misbehavior, I end up not using it at all...

    Diamine Imperial Blue Ink

Has anyone experience difficulties with this ink causing flow problems or residue build up in regular, prolonged use requiring more frequent flushing? Or in fact with any other blue Diamine inks.
