  1. My Orange Omas Ogiva Alba has found an ink it LOVES. Now, you may not understand, I have had this wonderful extra fine jewel for almost two months. Yet, one of my most favorite inks beyond sample inks of a variety is Iroshizuku. Well, I am sort of OCD because I can not tolerate to a certain degree when any ink is unsightly on the nib. Dribble, drool, bleed, oozing through the tines. Whatever you experts call it, I do not like to uncap my pen and see my nib with ink inside my pen on its outside. Well, after several inks not working, finally, found one which my Omas absolutely handles perfectly. Noodler's Apache Sunset Joy, and it happens to be the perfect color for my pen, not too dry, not very wet, perfect variation in its color to not be boring, not just straight orange. Can't get my hands on a bottle of it right now; everywhere seems to be out of it. Yet, got an order in for two more 3ml samples of it. This has been a quest! Yet, happy to report my Noodler's Ahabs both love any inks, including Iroshizuku; my Bexley, newly restored from the brink of perish loves Iroshizuku and happily enjoying a regular filling of Tsutsuji exclusively. My Lamy loves any inks. My Pelikans are hallowed halls now and empty waiting for me to resume my interest in their regal presence, still love them though. Do you have a favorite pen which you have experimented in order to find the the perfect ink? Did you ever find it?
  2. Just recently ordered a vintage German pen from the 30's on the Bay. (FYI, it was a BIN). The ad says it was completely and professionally restored. The image shows a cork "gasket" in the ink window. Questions: Do I need to avoid specific inks because of any caustic/destructive nature? What inks are considered more "gentle", especially toward vintage pens?Would (brightly?) colored inks be more inclined to cause problems?Would I be better staying with the black/blue/blue black inks? What brands might be better to consider? Will post a picture of the pen when it arrives from the Netherlands - around 6/18. Thanks for you help and insights.
