  1. From the album: Japanese pens

The nib collar on (now) my Pilot Custom 742 is sitting flush again after screwing in back in. Not a problem.

  2. From the album: Japanese pens

Surprise! I hadn't realised until now that pens in the Pilot Custom line have threaded collars screwed into their gripping sections.

  3. Hi guys, I am not sure if I am posting this question in the right place, so please let me know if it should be moved. Shawn Newton is making a pen for me. He can make a section around a nib and feed as long as both are in a threaded housing (Sailor uses threaded housings, for example). I saw Bookman's full section dissasembly of his Pilot 74. Do any of you know if the Pilot 742 can be dissasembled in the same way? If so, I am pretty sure Shawn could build a section since that metal flange acts a sort of threaded housing, right? (Bookman's pic from his original post) (I had also considered of provide him with a Platinum 3776 nib and feed, Joey Grasty (Flexible Nib Factory) makes threaded ebonite housings that are shaped on the inside to accept Platinum nibs and feed, but the problem is that the rest of the housing is shaped like a no nipple Bock housing i.e. the housing does not accept converters. This would force me to use the pen either as an eyedropper (no thanks), and asking Shawn to make the pen with one of the several filling systems is not an option either. I just find converters to be much more easy to clean, use, etc.) I hope someone can help me. Thanks

    Reviving My Old Fountain Pen

Hi there. I'm new so please bear with me. I have a pelikan pen. No idea what style. I can't find info on it.. I have not used it in 30+ years. I was ctrying to remove the stuck nib. Didnt know i should soak it first. I removed the gold nib, the rubber/plastic bit under it... But the housing is still in the pen!!! Help!! I've been soaking it firvthree days now to release all dried ink. I am pretty sure i used water soluble ink as i stillv have the bottle. Suggestions?
  5. isn't the housing, feed and nib suppose to fit together ? my recent purchased pens have this problems, some when pulled out from the housing the tines are prefect but when fit back together the tines mis-align. a few of them has perfect tines when fit in the housing but mis-align when removed out. and no matter what orientation i did the problem never solves. This has never happen to my other pens but that's because my other pens are all from japan (my Pilot and sailors) well known for their excellent supreme QC. hence my question / cry for help - where does the problem lies, housing inside uneven or nib tail uneven ? - any method to solve this matter ? Just in case anyone want to know I am having said problems above with my Delta DV OS, Monte verde Regatta sport, Jinhao 159, vinconti homosapien Dark age. For such expensive pen (jinhao aside) you expect it to work well ... even my preppy write better !! I don't think i will look/buy another pen from them. attached photo are my delta nib after insert into the housing the gap in between becomes wide open!
