  1. Hi everyone! I have a pen that writes too wet with Aurora Black and too dry with Waterman Black, so I am looking for an ink whose wetness is somewhere in between, although a bit closer to Aurora Black in terms of wetness. Also, if it is a really dark black that's a plus! Thank you all very much in advance!
  2. Hi everyone, I am interested on making the point on Noodler's Black once and for all (if that is even possible) because I have read and heard lots of contradictory things about that ink which has made me hesitant to buy it and use it in my more expensive pens and I am sure I am not alone in that boat. I have no bias against that ink, I know that some people here with lots of fountain pen experience and knowledge swear by it, and it indeed seems to have a lot of excellent properties that most people want, but I have also read other knowledgeable pen people such as Richard Binder in his article on inks be critical of it and say it could damage pens or at least dirty them a lot to the point of being very difficult to clean properly. All these contradictory stories and opinions have left me a bit lost as to weather or not Noodler's Black is an ink I want to use. So what is the definitive answer on Noodler's Black, if there's even one? PS: Maybe this has already been discussed thoroughly in an other thread I have missed, if so let me know, but all the threads I have read so far have just left me as divided as before on the issue.
  3. I got this, along with a rollerball(which .i could get a refill for and use, if I wanted to....it's been used, the fountain pen had not)for very little....can't remember exactly, but certainly under £10 Well, the pen writes beautifully....smooth, glides over the paper, using a universal cartridge. Heavy, which I like. No idea what it's made of, but actually feels like stone, or cement: it has a logo, which is EL Business services So I suspect it was a corporate gift. Must be from a while back, as the nib says "Iridium point W. Germany" So, has anyone else ever got a nameless, brandless, slightly odd pen, for not a lot of cash, and found it to be a pretty good one? Alex

    Are These Good Inks?

I had a question on a few inks: Are the Pilot Irushuzi (or whatever they are) worth the price? Are the J. Herbin 1670 inks as awesome as they look? Is the Alexander Hamilton ink any good? link below http://www.andersonpens.com/De-Atramentis-Alexander-Hamilton-35ml-Bottle-p/da-1126.htm
  5. I just won an auction for a nice vintage Easterbrook J. Before I pay for it I would like some advice from some more experienced people. I know nothing about replacing ink sacs and such so would buying this pen be a good idea? Are vintage ink sacs cheap? Are they easy to replace? The seller says he has never used it. Here ia a link to the pen: http://www.ebay.com/itm/271729930323
  6. Let me start by telling you that I am a teenager who goes to middle school. This means that all of my fountain pens I am carrying will be thrown everywhere, crushed between walls, dropped, and so on. I used to write with my Parker Sonnet at school, since that is the cheapest pen I have. However, yesterday, I dropped my pen at school and the cap almost broke. I am afraid that my fountain pen is going to break soon. Although Parker Sonnet is one of the cheaper fountain pens, I am 13 years old and $100 is a lot of money to me. Is there any cheap (less than $100), but well performing pen I can bring to school? Thank you in advance. -William S. Park
  7. Hello fountainpennetwork.com, My problem is concerning handwriting, I have been struggling to improve my handwriting since years but could never been satisfied with my own handwriting so I moved to www.fountainpennetwork.com, I have attached photos showing my handwriting, I write in 20 different fonts but I am confused which handwriting should I use in college and exams, please see my handwriting in photo attached and tell me which one should I finalize as my handwriting and please answer following questions. 1: Can I use Italic writing in exams? 2: Is it better to write on the line or in middle of 2 lines? 3: Is Italic writing good or non Italic? Looking at my photos tell me which writing is suitable for me and help me improve my handwriting. Should I write in such a way that bottom of letter touch line or should I write in middle of line help me please. Thanks and please reply quickly its urgent please Thanks.
  8. Hi guys, it has been a long time that I am struggling for legible and good handwriting, I went through different types of handwriting, first I wrote in cursive but never became fluent with it then I tried separate words but were looking kind of childish writing, then I wrote on middle of the line then again I jumped back on the line with different techniques of writing, so I came to this form so that you good people can help me improve my handwriting. My one more problem is that I can write in more than 20 styles (2 of which are attached in the photo) this has became problem for me because which one style should I finalize and choose. My handwriting attached in this photo are 2 writings, open photo it will be named "1" and "2" in other photo attached (written in red colour on the photo) so you people can distinguish between two different handwritings of mine, my both handwritings in both pics are legible means I can write it fast and fluent but tell me by looking at the photo that is such writing acceptable or not and which one should I choose, thanks.

    Just My Luck....

So today I went to my local Staples and saw something that was simply wonderful. I found on sale for $3 even, Brazilian filler paper! I bought half of the rack that was left. They were $3 for 400 sheets and I ended up buying 7 packages, totaling 2,800 pages! The stack is 8 inches tall and weighs in the neighborhood of 27-34 lbs! I had to have them double bagged. Run and see if yours has them. Mine has no feathering at all.
