  1. Not unlike how things are in New Zealand, postage costs in Australia are almost prohibitive for exchanges and giveaways even when just sending stuff domestically, especially when they involve pens, which Australia Post has explicitly stated are not to be sent by letter post, which is far cheaper, but must be sent in parcels (Parcel Post minimum cost A$7.95) that are not subject to being stomped on by automated mail processing machinery. A better way may be to pass around a box of surplus and not-my-cup-of-tea-but-may-be-someone-else's items of up to 3kg, using a flat-rate prepaid mailing bag
  2. Hi, I have accumulated more pens than I can write with. So I have decided to give away one of them (in India only). It's a Lamy nexx M. The pen is in near perfect shape with a medium nib. Ideally, I'd like to give it away to someone who is making a leap from lower end pens (sub Rs 1000) to Lamy for the first time. Please note: the pen does not come with a convertor. So you would either need to buy a convertor or use the cartridges. Of course, this is a giveaway - I am not looking for a trade or monetary compensation.

  9. The Pilot Parallel is a fun calligraphy pen, but I'm not an expert in using it, and don't really use it that much these days. So I decided to give it away! 13. Hello All, A little while ago, I bought a vintage Sheaffer's Skrip bottle of #82 washable purple ink. I purchased it more for the bottle's built-in inkwell, and thought the remaining ink would be a nice bonus. After I tried it I realized that, although nice, it just wasn't a shade of purple that I liked. But, that might be your gain! Details on the ink characteristics are below. But first, the rules: - TWO lucky folks will win ink. I'll be giving each person 15ml of washable purple ink (5 vials with 3ml each) - Open to Continental US only, free first-class shipping. - Enter by simply p
  14. Hi all! I'd like to introduce you to my site, oakenreed.com! Admittedly, the site I created is not solely based on fountain pens, but it was undoubtedly the initial goal. I will soon be reviewing a few pens and inks I've accrued over the past couple of years, from recommendations from you all or otherwise. I'm currently having a giveaway, but while my PIF is being moderated over there, please head on over and check it out for yourself. I also tend to write poetry and stories, so if that appeals, I hope to see you there!

    Nibmeister Article

This article appeared in the fountain pen feed of this morning's FlipBoard. http://www.mypenneedsink.com/blog/2017/06/19/nibmeister-services/#comment-3306
  16. This review and others can also be found at my website: www.pensinksandpaper.com At first glance, the Deli S677 might appear to be a cheap marker, a plasticky bit of mass-produced unpleasantness that has no place in the hand of a fountain pen user. One would be surprised, then, when removing the cap to find not a ballpoint tip or a marker’s felt but a nib. Appearance & Design (3/10) – I’m not entirely sure what the creators of this pen were trying to do in terms of visual appeal. They look rather unusual. The caps are a solid pastel color, with a white clip that says “deli” on it.

Since International Fountain Pen Day is next week, and because I've appreciated the PIFs on FPN in the past, I've decided to give away a bunch of ink samples. 21. We hope everyone is having a great summer so far. Here in Arizona we are on the cusp of the monsoon season where we have hot, sunny temperatures mixed with dark clouds, and lightning filled thunderstorms. You can be getting sunburned one minute, and drenched in rain the next. It makes for some beautiful scenery and once you experience it, you will never forget it. This yearly seasonal weather pattern has inspired our latest experiment in pen-making. We have been experimenting for a while with different materials and finishes and have come up with some pretty cool results. This new pen repr
