Last night after hearing that I stopped at Paradise Pen on our trip to Minneapolis my father in-law gave me this pen that he'd found in a box of stuff he'd purchased at an estate sale. http://www.werdna.net/images/RedFineline.jpg It is a Sheaffer Fineline in red with fine nib. In the Fineline box. Near as I can tell from opening it up is that it has never been inked. The bladder is soft and no signs of dried ink anywhere. I'm generally a user of things and not a collector. All of my other pens are also low end user pens and I generally have them inked up with different inks and ready to write. Is there any reason for me to keep this pen un-inked and in it's box or should I ink it up and go? -Andrew
schaudhary75 posted a topic in SheafferI got a Vintage Sheaffer Fineline Lever Fill Fountain Pen in that's section wont come off. It doesn't look like it's meant to. Is there a type of Fineline that the section doesn't come off?
Chazzy91 posted a topic in Fountain & Dip Pens - First StopNoble FP Sages, I have recently come into a couple desk pen sets once belonging to a late lawyer relative. I'm including additional photos just for clarity, as mine are missing a few pieces. I have glass ink bottle inserts for both units (one original, one of my own devising) so the innards are covered as far as I know. HOWEVER, I am having a painful time finding original Morris pens (the nib units are all over ebay, but not the pens...) and I don't even know what to look for with the Sheaffer, as the unit was made by the Fineline division so any searches there produce predominantly the Fineline fp's. Questions: Where can I find original pens? If that's impossible, will Esterbrook dipless or another brand work well with these? Are there some standardized dipless pens that will take the Morris nib units?
