  5. Hello everybody, Michael Dromgoole here again to talk about an event we have upcoming this weekend. On Saturday February 24th, we will be having a special pen event with two very special guests. The first guest we are extremely excited about is Dante Del Vecchio, founder of Visconti and also current designer of Pineider pens, he will be down here showing off some of his newest pens including our very own exclusive, and some new nibs Pineider is coming out with(VERY EXCITING). We also are welcoming Ken Jones, Vice President of Sales at Yafa (distributor of Conklin, Monteverde, Stipula, Pineider, etc.), and he will be here helping out with the event and showing off pens from all of their brands. This will be a bit different of an event than we have always had in the past, we will have some tables for gathering with snacks and good chatter. We hope anyone that can make it shows up and enjoys themselves. Both guests are great to talk to and have a lot of experience in the industry. I will also be doing an interview with Dante and hope to get a video up early next week. If anyone has any questions they would like me to ask, please shoot them my way! Its our first big event of 2018, and it will run from 10AM-4PM. We hope to see everybody here! Here is a link with a flyer about the event and a picture of our first Pineider Exclusive, what I like to call the "Midnight Shadows". It is limited to 37 pieces! https://instagram.com/p/BfYx5_MhEhV/

  8. Central Penn Pens - Middle of Spring meeting Saturday 7 May 2016 @ 1:00 pmCafé Fresco, 3352 Paxton StreetHarrisburg, PA http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t68/earthly-paradise/Waterman-Ideal-Fountain-Pen-Giclee-.jpgHello everyone! The Central Penn Pens group will meet again to celebrate the arrival (then departure, then re-arrival) of Spring. The Philadelphia Pen Show was a bit of a blizzard, but Baltimore and Long Island more than made up for it. Café Fresco. Many of you are now familiar with that venue for showing and sharing your pen hobby. Now, let’s just relax in the back room of that local eatery where we’ve been meeting on and off for almost ten years. The next meeting of the Central Penn Pens will take place on Saturday, 7 May 2016 at 1:00pm. We'll gather in the back room of, just east of Harrisburg. This location is like the hub of a spoked wheel of major roads, and is easy to get to from I-81, I-83, I-76 (Pa Turnpike) and US322. We are working on a presentation, so watch this thread. Those of you who've been here before know we pile the tables with pen collections and the opportunity to trade, buy or sell. Then there's the ink swap to try new brands and shades that you would never consider before, and without spending a dime. After all, your unwanted ink is another writer’s treasure, so bring those dusty bottles along. We’ll also have the Goodie Box, a place to put your orphan pen items that simply clutter your desk at home, but others will be glad to have them. Watch this space for more information, updates, freebies and whatnot. Please contact me with ideas, offers and questions. Fred

  15. Hi! Okay, so last year I was all set to do something for fountain pen day, then couldn't (stuff got in the way), so I made a firm decision to get involved this year - then promptly forgot all about it until just now At such short notice, the only decent thing I can come up with is to use the day for a possible meet up of FPNers and other fountain pen users, nerds, collectors, tinkerers, and assorted folk in the Athens, Greece area. Anyway, this meeting won't be anything fancy (short notice and all!), but anyone who's into fountain pens is welcome, newbie or old-timer, including those who don't actually live here but are visiting or just passing through To keep things simple, I thought I'd just park myself on a table in the Starbucks on Mitropoleos and wait - nice central location to make getting there as easy as possible, and guaranteed smoke-free so we can natter without getting choked up by the inveterate chain-smokers crowding every other coffee shop in the Athens area I'll show up at six o'clock and stay a couple of hours. If you want to take part, come over any time during So, to sum up: What: fountain pen people get together in Athens, GreeceWhen: Friday November 1st, show up 6-8pmWhere: Starbucks, the Monastiraki branch - corner of Mitropoleos and Aiolou (Out-of-towners, here's how to find the place; If you're taking the metro you need the MONASTIRAKI stop)See ya there!
