    Brilliant Brian.... My First Edison

Edison Collier Persimmon Swirl Dear FPN Friends. . I am going to do my first Fountain Pen Review now.... It is a bit unusal as I normally do Ink reviews... But when I visited the Heaven on Earth.....La Couronne Du Comte http://www.lacouronneducomte.nl I bought a piece of sheer beaty and I found out that even a republic can have a king .. How is that???? http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/Edison%20Collier/3Greats_zpsca059554.jpg I have found an AMERICAN Royal.... http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/Edison%20Collier/BriantheFGrayd_zpsdea0d9df.jpg Brian the GrayT the King of Fountain Pens... Well nice to know for the Americans that they now have aKing too.... But why is Brian so GRAYT???? Well Look at this http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/Edison%20Collier/20150107_104313_zps89613884.jpg The Edison Collier Persimmon Swirl Quality and Construction 10/10 Very well made from excellent resin wiht a nice touch and feel to it.. This is a screw on Cap.... The threads are excellent. You do not feel them at all during writing. They have a fine twist ....It needs more twists than my Pelikan M800 making it very secure... Oh it doesn't post but no need for that look at hte sizes Dimensions length closed: 150mm Length nib: 23.5mm Lengte barrelt 16.5mm Diameter grip section (max/min): 11.6/9.7mm Diameter barrel (max): 14.6mm Totale length uncapped, 129mm Total weight 30g My Pelikan M800 is not small at all... but http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/Edison%20Collier/20150107_121858_zpscd3e6898.jpg The Edison Collier is even GRAYter http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/Edison%20Collier/20150107_121948_zps981d4bf4.jpg And that Number 6 Nib is Grayt too... The Nib and Wrting experience 9/10 http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/Edison%20Collier/20150107_104557_zps14966935.jpg http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/Edison%20Collier/20150107_104459_zpseffcf0b5.jpg The nib is a number 6 Jowo nib I believe... I love it but first a minor thing-- Skipping... The nib is very nice but it sometimes skips when using Block Letters.... that being said let's start with all the good news. The Nib is A Steel Medium Nib.... It is a bit on the finer side for an M nib....I will show you that in the Handwritten examples down here http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/Edison%20Collier/Scan_Pic0001_zps12aa53d0.jpg http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/Edison%20Collier/Scan_Pic0002_zpsb8760a06.jpg Line width It is on the thinner side especially in comparison wiht the Pelikan and the WatermanLine Variation.... this STEEL nib even has line variation... Not as much as Pelikan and Waterman but those have 18 K gold nibs.... But cool or what.... Line variation in a steel (non flex) nib. Okay line width is thinner as I expeted it to be..... But it is excellent for the delicate work and Cursive writing King Brian the GrayT is the first politician to not talk Bull S.... (Colloquial for Faeces of a "male cow") Well in my beloved country the Netherlands.... The King William of Orange is part of Parliament hence some sort of a Politician.... Sorry King Brian you are the second politician to not talk Bull S.... My King William is the First of course King Brian the GrayT is telling the Truth in praise of steel Nibs On the Edson Website Brian the GrayT writes a very convincing story a bout the excellent quality of steel nibs today http://edisonpen.com/in-praise-of-steel-nibs-2 In short a Steel nib can be very smooth you need gold for line variation.... That is true but not completely.... Since this steel nib offers some line variation But Brian the GrayT is right.... Inspite of a minor skip every now and then.... It is absolutely SMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTH No skipping in cursive writing... It is a writing dream and my favourite for smaller cursive writng The looks 11/10 Eleven out of ten this pen is absolutely stunning for more reasons First of all I like the colour.... I am Dutch http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/Edison%20Collier/media_xll_1631383_zpsa0403389.jpg And this is my Great King William and his lovely wife Queen Maxima of ORANGE http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/Edison%20Collier/20150107_105138_zps8c18b1de.jpg Well It is Orange isn't it... Have a look at that lovely marble and the beatutiful shimmering in the light http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/Edison%20Collier/20150107_105711_zps31152f6c.jpg or the distinctive clip http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/Edison%20Collier/20150107_105754_zpse461eb4e.jpg Love that big two tone nib http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/Edison%20Collier/20150107_104557_zps14966935.jpg and all it's lovely details... http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/Edison%20Collier/20150107_104459_zpseffcf0b5.jpg The Price... 10/10 € 129/$150 Maybe not very cheap but a fair price.... Hand tuned GrayT quality ... Grayt size.... It is definately worth the money... Too Conclude I love Brian the Grayt... Oops... Er.... let me re-phrase that I will leave the loving part up to Andrea (The Royal spouse Andrea the Great) I love the works of Brian the Grayt King of Fountain Pens... I LOVE MY EDISON COLLIER PERSIMMON SWIRL I now have 3 instead of 2 certainties in live There is a Dutch Joke/Saying that you only have 2 certainties in live... You pay taxes and you will die one day I now have a third certainty..... I Will definately buy other Edisons in the future Regards Peter P.s. Will test thiose inks more extensively soon http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/Edison%20Collier/20150107_121655_zps4fec4d4a.jpg Pens used for the line width comparison
