    A Tale Of Two Preppies

I filled the barrels of two Pilot Preppies identically - made sure to seal with silicone and o-rings, tightly sealed. The other day, I opened my fine point (the black one in the pix) and a big blob of ink plopped onto the paper. I inspected the pen and saw that the feed was flooded with ink. But not the feed of the other one. Does anyone have an explanation for this? Apart from the blob mishap nothing is amiss and even with the flooded feed the pen writes fine. I'm just curious. I've learned from this why some people don't like filling the barrel directly. From now on, I'm refilling cartridges. They are just Preppies but I don't like this.

    Ink Splash Fever

Do you have Ink Splash Fever? Do you find yourself with a half-syringe full of diluted ink, completely unable to send it down the drain? And instead, splatter it onto some paper? Or maybe you keep a paper towel handy while cleaning your pens...and once it's covered in ink it looks kind of beautiful. Maybe you do something else a bit abstract with your fountain pen inks - like make little puddles of ink to ogle? Please snap a photo and share with your fellow ink-o-philes. All splishes, splashes, dribs, drabs, drips, drops, splatters, puddles, smears, fingerprints, and other inky messes are welcome! Here, diluted Noodler's Sunrise frolics with some drips of diluted Noodler's Dragon's Napalm. I smeared some of the Sunrise around with a cotton swab I had previously used to clean up some ink, which made a pretty nice green on the paper!

    Parker 21 Dripping Ink.. Solutions?

Hi all, I'm a little new to Parker pens, after only having a 45 and a 51 for a few months now (loving them both). I recently purchased a 21 on eBay. The thing writes fantastic, but there seems to be way too much space between the top of the nib and the bottom of the hood, allowing ink to pool up in the space and drip out out of the tip when I move the pen suddenly. It's also dripping ink into the cap so when I uncap it and try to write, I get ink all over my hands. I've flushed the pen pretty well and there doesn't seem to be any leaks anywhere. Is there a way to close the gap between the nib and the hood? Is my pen warped in some way? I've included a picture of what I'm talking about. Thanks guys. -Alex
